Because it took a lot for Eon to get Blofeld and Spectre back, and (historically) he's Bond's nemesis - and they've made a point of that in SP. Perhaps not everyone in the audience (the younger audience?) knows that, but enough do. Also, Waltz has expressed he didn't get to dig into Blofeld like he had wished and hoped - so, if they work hard to flesh the character out in the script, Waltz will want another crack at it. Bet on Blofeld in Bond 25.
Even Connery got a film away from SPECTRE and look how GF turned out.
Hear, hear.
The same can be said about Craig and Skyfall but there are people around here that loathe it. Even though it was a huge critical success
Craig will be back as Bond.
Told ya
Let's just wait and see, but, as I say, I strongly suspect Blofeld will be back in Bond 25 in some form.
Yes it would have been nice for Craig to have a standalone mission but we're past that point now. If they've bought him back only to sweep SP under the rug and give him a straight forward Bond film I'll be pissed off. Four films of continuity heavy, personal/dramatic films then a run of the mill Bond on a mission one with nothing to do with them tacked onto the end? What's the point in that?
If they wanted to do a standalone back to basics film then they should have recast. But Craig is back now so they have to follow on from SP. Yes the premise is a bit boring, I wanted a fresh start myself, but if they can really nail the YOLT stuff then it'll be worth it imo. Craig's comments about wanting to go out on a high have got me really excited to see what they do with it.
Agree entirely.
I was solely referring to these lines of RC7:" We're Bond fans. Stiff upper lip. Put up and shut up. We have a duty not to join the ranks of these whining fuckers."
And even so I came out of the Biergarten last night I see no reason to refrain. This is - at best -laughable.Being a fan it's not an act of duty! I am a Bond fan cause I happen to enjoy some of the movies in the franchise very very much and I am not willing to give up on my right to expect quality work from EON for my money and if they are not able to deliver I say no reason why not to be frank about it. Again, I am not an employee of them and I also don't serve in their army!
@noSolaceleft please don't swear, seriously, no need.
The swearing was from the guy I was quoting
Sorry, hope you give him hell.

Earlier in the day, Craig indicated that others were desperate to get going and then later on Colbert he indicated that he was raring to go ("can't wait"). Well I look forward to EON's confirmation of yesterday's breaking news, the director, the studio and the synopsis of the plot. We are, after all, 2+ long years away from the release of the next entry so they can't be all that keen on getting going, but hopefully we'll get this information sooner rather than later.
But he didn't get his standalone film with SF ,as they linked Silva in with SPECTRE (which I think is stupid but that's the way it is .
CraigBond needs a film with no mention of SPECTRE ,as Connery got with GF.
He 'officially' has NOT had a standalone film .
In the novel he's clearly gone insane. Problem is, they'd have to do it without Irma.
Better do a standalone!
And of course a year and 4 months starts principal photography of the film so yeah between now and then expect plenty of rumors and news...
Personally if this is Craig's last film let's see the final battle between Bond and Blofeld... I want the climax of the film to be ripped straight from you only live twice (the novel) with the castle burning around them as Bond and Blofield have the most amazing sword fight ever put to film.
I get that climax I am happy but so far with Purivs and Wade ( yeah I like them sorry but 75% of die another day is amazing 100 % of both casino and quantum and even skyfall and Spectre are pretty good) back and Craig back my wish list is pretty much being checked off..now if I can get a good action director a classic rock band doing the theme and of course a Fleming title (yup I would even except the bland 007 in New York) and a great video game tie in with Craig doing the voice work then I would be super happy
Annapurna has a lot to gain so they may take it on, but would a big studio commit for just a one film deal?
Especially if MGM wants to get back into distribution after it sells or IPOs.
The slightly haphazard manner in which this announcement has been handled leads me to think 'Indie'.
Ok, you're German and may have missed the underlying facetiousness of my comment. Get back to the beer garden and drink yourself into a state of acceptance. It'll all be fine.
I hope not then his return will be an even bigger waste then Mr. White in Spectre.
Well, it does make some sense. I mean, for the long term it could be a more jovial, less dominant partner than big ones like Warner Bros. and Universal. And who knows Annapurna could later on be merged with MGM and becoming big again as a movie distributor. I think it also makes EON more happy.
On the other hand, I do predict it'll be either Warner or Universal.
Nonsense. Roger Moore was James Bond for just shy of 90 years. ;)
If it was the final battle there would be no question of whether Blofeld will return or not.
The main rumour is that its going to be Warner Bros, which is fine by me,and I would imagine its for one film with an option for more if the film succeeds to WB satisfaction (which we all know it will do,especially with Daniel back on board).
