At the risk of looking stupid. Are these real T shirts available to buy or are they fan made?
I find one or two of them as something I would wear if I could find them...

These are most all available to buy, @cwl007.
l'm not intending to advertise, you can use the Quote function to see the image url and likely the source is displayed.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I hadn't actually clicked on the images do didn't realise it would take me to the retailer. (Knew I'd risk looking stupid😅)

"Blades" was my first T-shirt idea SIS Training Gear used; this gold bar with a tiny 'z' is the second.

The second one will be very obscure for those who haven't read the novel.
That was the idea. Very inside!

I like the TLD reference; (poor Saunders) but I don't understand the red line graphic.

I can't say absolutely, @brinkeguthrie, to me it suggests bureaucratic red tape. And also a fishbone diagram used for crime- and problem-solving.

There's also the saying to cross a red line--a point of no return or line in the sand, or "a limit past which safety can no longer be guaranteed" wikipedia reports.

Lastly, the thin red line. From Kipling, Rudyard Kipling's poem "Tommy", from Barrack-Room Ballads, in which he calls British foot soldiers "the thin red line of heroes", referring to the stand of the 93rd Regiment in the Battle of Balaclava of the Crimean War.

Well on its own even that second one rates as subtle for me.

    But point taken.

Yes, I like that one! I keep considering it in khaki and then finding something else to spend my money on instead.

Yes I nearly went khaki but I think the blue logo works better on the blue shirt. They seem to have sold out of their awesome Octopussy one in my size too, annoyingly.
