Last night I had the sudden urge to watch Moonraker again (after initially rejecting it when it came into cinemas, it has grown to become possibly my favourite Roger Moore film over the last 25 years). It must have been my 15th or even 20th viewing, but for the first time I realised that all the ladies, countesses et cetera to whom Drax introduced Bond were actually on board the space shuttles and the space station.

I also noticed that Drax's henchman listed as Chang on IMDb is actually called Cha in movie. I wonder why they did this. Maybe they didn't want him defined by a Chinese family name and rather let him be a diffuse Asian, especially since the actor is obviously Japanese.

It took me plenty of viewings as a kid before it finally dawned on me years later that all of Drax's female companions appear during the finale. It's so obvious, not sure how it took that long for it to click for me (and you too apparently).

And yes, I'd say MR is probably the installment with the most positive growth for me over the years. I used to find it overly cheesy and underwhelming but it's really grown on me in the last 5-10 years and I have a really, really great time with it now on every viewing.

Something I've only really thought about after just rewatching Calvin Dyson's video on Craig's gunbarrels in Casino Royale the camera pull back through the barrel and in No Time to Die it pushes forward. I thought that was a nice little bookend as Bond enters and leaves the spy world.

Thumbs up to that (didn't find an emoji to do the job). It's probably on a par for me with LALD, which has an additional nostalgy factor (watched it at least three times in the cinema when I was 18). But I'll take it over the rest of the Moore bunch any time.

Just noticed in SP, when Bond's getting his "smart blood" injected by Q, one of the screens in the room has a graph displayed for Bond's "Alcohol Content," in which the line is consistently going upward.

Also, probably been mentioned before but: the way Madeleine clutches her belly as the train doors close in NTTD, did she already know then she was pregnant? It's an interesting thought and makes that sequence all the more emotional.

I think so, I also thought that was what was going on there

Yes, Madeleine's referring to her pregnancy when she says 'There's something I need to tell you' during the Matera chase, right?

I think so, and their plan is to go "Home" (Madeleine's home) after Matera as Madeleine says, so I imagine her original plan was to tell him when they got there.

Yeah, not telling him when he's about to visit his exes grave was a good idea.

Is it the Dalton Era, or Dalton's bond in general is the only Bond who never went by train or no train scenes in the films?

All of the Bonds at least rode by train except Dalton's bond, I don't remember Dalton's bond being in trains or even having some train scenes in his films.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

No, I think you're right - closest we get is a tram. Trains in the 80s were an unglamorous mess so maybe that's the reason!

Closest is the pipeline at the start of TLD I suppose, but certainly not a train. They probably could have replaced the plane at the end of the movie with a train if they really wanted to.

Now that I think of it, I believe all Bond's fly planes except for Connery (though he crash lands two of them! LOL), Lazenby and Moore. All Bond's get to ride helicopters but only Craig's bond pilots one. Motorbikes are also ones that not every Bond drives. I believe only Brosnan and Craig do motorbikes?

Outliers, Moore is the only Bond to pilot a space shuttle! Connery, a moon buggy! LOL

MOORE fly's planes in TMWTGG and OP.
DALTON fly's planes in both his films.
BROSNAN fly's planes in GE and TND.
CRAIG fly's planes in QOS, SP and NTTD

MOORE fly's a helicopter in FYEO.
BROSNAN fly's a helicopter in DAD
CRAIG fly's a helicopter in SP

CONNERY and LAZENBY never fly a plane.
CONNERY*, LAZENBY and DALTON never fly a helicopter.

Connery rides a bike in NSNA if you count it (which personally I don't).

Although I'm a keen biker, motorcycles feel wrong for Bond to me. I think it's because I get irritated at the lack of protective gear. But Connery looks a bit daft in his.

Don't think I've seen that pic before. One wish for the future is for Bond to get a Q-bike.

As another fallout from looking for quarter frames, I discovered that Nomi's name is not her first name, but her last name, and her first name starts with an "M". Look at this image detail of when Q is checking the whereabouts of Bond and Nomi on their way to Safin's island (it's from frame 1388 on screenmusings.org):

    nttd1388xffcm.jpg

Agent names are shown as "Nomi, M" and "Bond, J". I don't know if anyone has found this before, but I was a bit surprised by my discovery.

A couple of us spotted that, and the possibility that Nomi could become (an) M. I bet Nomi's first name is Melissa. She seems like a Melissa.

While posing as a car rental employee, Quentin got a little carried away with the ruthlessness required for the job.

I don't suppose we'll see her as an "M" anymore. And if the first name initial counted, the Judi Dench character should have been "B" or "O", right?

I've just noticed that in Licence To Kill did end with Bond, Q in a celebration (Party Gathering) not related to his mission or after the mission, where they're all celebrating.

I don't remember any Bond films ending on this, mostly just shown Bond making love with a woman, but not like LTK where they're really celebrating, there's a gathering that's not connected to a mission.

Maybe OHMSS might also counts in this, as it ends on a celebration/gathering that's not connected to a mission.

But aside from those, I don't remember any Bond films that have those, most celebrations (or parties) were connected to Bond's mission for him to attend because the villain's there.

But only LTK and OHMSS are the only Bond films where the gathering/celebration wasn't connected to any mission or no connection to villains at all.

I'm also thinking of TWINE, as Bond also celebrates Christmas (or New Year) with Christmas Jones after the mission.

I'm about to include TLD, but Bond was absent for the majority of the event.

I just want to see more of that, where after the mission, there would be a gathering or a celebration party that Bond needs to attend just for his own personal sake or they celebrate because the bad guy's dead and the mission is accomplished.

The Connery and Moore (and mostly, the Craig Era) films didn't end on those, they just end with Bond making out with a girl.

I wish they've made this at the AVTAK's ending with M, Q and Moneypenny along with Bond and Stacey celebrating (Party gathering) at the Sutton Mansion then General Gogol would come there to give the medal to Bond himself, and also the Head of California Police District asking an apologize to Bond, as Bond and Stacey move far away from the party and they're going to kiss, it would make a much better ending to me.

I do like the added two finger salute of holding the party to celebrate Sanchez’s death at his own house too.
