Do my ears deceive me, or was that Keeley Hawes?

It does sound like her, plus Keeley is several years older now. Keeley and that costume certainly are some of the most iconic parts Lara Croft history.

I think it is Keeley Hawes, unless they got a soundalike. If it is her, then it's a shame that it is for that. My favourite Lara voice actress being brought back just so COD can claw in some of that Fortnite money. :(

The character model could have been a bit better, I must admit I have only played the COD games now and again, I never really got that into it re: all the DLC's etc.

I have played 3 of them (Modern Warfare Remastered, WW2 and Cold War). The single player campaigns have their moments, but with COD, single player is an afterthought.

I have not had a Nintendo since N64 so know very little about SWITCH, what is Nintendo Direct? Something like Game Pass? If I can't buy the game outright I will likely pass.

I think Nintendo Direct is their own in-house E3. I haven't had a Nintendo since the N64 either, so I don't know what their eco system is like these days.

Shame it's Nintendo only, as that looks like a pretty sweet remaster. Looks similar to what they managed with the Shadowman Remastered that dropped a couple of years back (that I still need to get around to playing).

I have never really looked into it other than doing the odd search naively looking for Mario games on STEAM. I am guessing most or all Nintendo games are ring fenced and not cross platform.

Turns out they're coming to Playstation too.

    https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/09/the-original-tomb-raider-trilogy-returns-in-remaster-collection-on-ps5-ps4

If it gets a physical release, i'm buying that collection. It's been soooo long since I have played those early (PS1 era games). I like that they have improved the graphics, but also you can switch to the original graphics at any time.

That is encouraging, I wonder if later down the line the collection will appear on Xbox.

It's for multiple consoles. Look at the end of this trailer.

    PS4
    PS5
    Nintendo Switch
    Xbox One
    Xbox Series X|S
    Steam

This looks like a good opportunity to finally play those expansions I've never played: Unfinished Business (TR1), The Golden Mask (TR2) and The Lost Artifact (TR3).

Great stuff, I think the only expansion I would likely have played is TR3 when I had it on Playstation.

I have all the games on STEAM though I have had issues with the controls, only TR1 works well from the first 3 games on my PC.

I'll admit I didn't see the trailer through to the end. Oops. That's great news though, happy to hear. I'll definitely pick this up on the PS at some point then.

The one thing I don't like in this remaster is that the sky is bright in the Lost Valley level (the one with the dinosaur). In the original game, it's pitch black. I think that adds a great deal of atmosphere. Makes it feel like it's deep underground.

But great to see that they're giving these games some love.

Yeah those atmospheric changes can be disappointing to original fans, @mattjoes. I had similar complaints with the fog being removed throughout the GTA Trilogy remaster. It's just not the same when you can see across the country so clearly versus having that fog for ambiance.

I was just browsing on STEAM and noticed TR 1,2,3 Remastered is already available for pre order...

£19.99 seems reasonable, interestingly the release date is Lara Crofts birthday 14th February nice touch.

I was actually wondering why the game was not getting a Christmas release, makes sense now.

1 year and 5 months after releasing, Evil Dead The Game, is to have no new content.

    https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/09/no-new-content-coming-to-evil-dead-the-game-servers-will-remain-live

That'll be the beginning of the end, though the servers are said to be staying open for the time being. I played it when it was free on PS+ (I wanted to use it as a trial before I considered buying it), and played it for a fortnight after. Haven't touched it since. I was have instead wanted a new single player Evil Dead, as would a lot of people, reading the responses to this news.

It's like I blink and those third-person horror titles like this are quietly slowing down.

I think it depends on how much a developer can mine from the property. With Friday The 13th, there was at last a new Jason and a new map that were going to be added to the game (that we know of). With Evil Dead, I don't know what else they could have done.

Reviews for Assassin's Creed: Mirage are making their way online:
    https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps5/assassins-creed-mirage

It sounds like Mirage has taken the series back to it's roots, but that hasn't come without a few issues. Still, I am looking forward to picking it up and trying it for myself.

AC III was a mess to me and I just don't ever see me returning to the series sadly. With each new installment, a piece of me would prefer loving it and checking it out, but none of the footage I've seen has screamed that it's worth my time or money. Maybe some day, but after all this time, I think I'm done.

As for me, I'm ready for the new Forza Motorsport to release next week. I can't wait to try it out.

I really didn't like AC3. It almost killed off my love for the AC games, especially coming off the back of the Ezio trilogy, which I never warmed up to. But I strongly recommend Black Flag. That game jump started my love for the series. I didn't like Rogue, at first, but I returned to it a year later, and appreciated the flipping of the perspective. Unity was ok, after a disastrous launch, it ran fine by the time I got around to it. Syndicate is another favourite of mine, set in Industrial Revolution London, with the choice of two playable assassin's, each with their own distinct style. Origins is where the games start to bloat, and I never finished it. I never played Odyssey (which I have a copy of) or Valhalla (which I have only recently bought). But I intend on giving both a try.

At the least, take a gamble on Black Flag.

It will be, that's all but confirmed at this rate, with, I'm assuming, an inevitable PC release down the line.

I believe they've purposefully continued to work on and perfect this one, waiting for the right time where the latest generation of consoles was available enough that anybody interested would be able to snag one to play this. They would've really hurt themselves by trying to make this a multi-gen release, and I'm so glad they chose not to.

In theory GTAVI should be a huge leap forward from GTAV, I had to check my disks i could not remember if i bought GTAV on Xbox 360, though I have it on Xbox One. seems so long ago now since i bought it. Lately i have played GTAIV the most on STEAM.

I'm sure it'll be an even bigger jump than the GTA V-to-RDR2 improvements were. I had GTA V on both the PS3 and PS4, didn't bother wasting more money for the PS5 version though.

Also, the budget for RDR2 was about $540 million. GTA VI? $2 billion. This game's gonna be insane.

Lots of games announced at the recent game awards. What caught my interest most was Jurassic Park: Survival, a first person survival horror game.

    https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/12/jurassic-park-survival-takes-you-back-to-isla-nublar-for-first-person-thrills-on-ps5

I have wanted this kind of JP game since they announced, and then cancelled one for the PS2.
