"When they found Boris in the base he was frozen so stiff it took them three days to thaw him out for the autopsy."
Deadline reporter says to wait until after the Oscars for Bond news.
Tom Holland previously announced he pitched an origin story for Bond to the producers and they turned him down.
Tom Holland also recently offered himself to host the Oscars.
Tom Holland was just in one of the most successful movies of all time.
Baz's report says "It really can't be him, can it?" in regard to a rumor he heard about the next actor.
Is it possible Eon actually liked Holland's idea and are going forward with it? He will be the new Bond with an origin story, and wants a big arc.
I don't think it's happening, but you could put it together to make it seem like something could happen with Holland and Bond...
I don't think will be Tom Holland. He's Spider-Man, he's contracted with Sony/Marvel for several movies and he's already Nathan Drake, if this first Uncharted movie is successful, a sequel is sure to follow.
Let's stop mentioning famous and popular actors because they won't be.
;)
I think that was spoiled on Getty Images when there were photos of him in the country at promotional events when they were shooting.
I can't give him credit for saying 'they want a guy young enough to make several movies' and 'I've heard a rumour but I couldn't possibly expand on that'. There's nothing there.
As fo 'Baz hasn't been wrong' I still remember when the next Bond movie was apparently called 'Avatar'...
I'd heard he'd fallen out of favour as far as EON were concerned recently but he's gotten plenty of things right over the years, hasn't he? What would have been his biggest scoop?
That being said, I think Tom Holland could be a great Q. Maybe (if Michael G. Wilson is still involved), if it is a origin story, they will go back to The Living Daylights original script. It did feel like a new way to reintroduce Bond and friends.
He can get a bit annoying, can’t he? What a helpful chap.
Tom: "Look! It s Zendaya!"
Bond: " Thanks for the tip."
SPLASH!
I perfectly remember that article and no one saw that coming inhere so that means no one saw that coming in the whole planet.
I perfectly remember us finding images of him at a party on getty images and it being the first confirmation he was in London and therefore likely to be in the film. It was in the production thread, for anyone on the planet to read.
IAN FLEMING'S JAMES BOND in AQUATOR
:))
Great stuff, @mattjoes! :-D I can picture it right now.
M: You re a funny man, 007.
Bond: What do you mean, I am funny?
"Funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown?"
But it is amusing to ponder.
How about them as a good James Bond Jr instead ? ;))
This is essentially how the Uncharted film started, as I understand it.
A Young James Bond origin film, anyways.
Now I could see Andrew Garfield playing THAT Bond.
If no quality young actor can be found by the time Idris does maybe 2 or 3 filmed back to back in a shorter period with Christopher Nolan, maybe Tom Hardy can get one or two films as well. Over this whole period, the producers can spend some time looking for a lesser-known actor that hasn't quite broken out yet similar to how Connery and Daniel Craig came into light.
There's always a sense of dread when having to recast the character with someone new for audiences. But Elba and Tom Hardy have each proven that they can replace and succeed prior actors for the same roles if you look at their filmographies and the success of their sequels compared to their predecessors'.
Sense of dread when seeing GE compared to LTK....a sudden drop in the darkness and realism for light-hearted tropes that would be emphasized in years to come with PB's talent being wasted and him ending on bad terms with his bosses. Similarly, GL's exit from the franchise was just as tragic as the end of OHMSS.
The series would have crashed and burned if he stuck around.
Or we discover that ‘Madeline’ is often shortened to ‘Mata’, and we start on the adventures of Mata Bond…
I seriously doubt that, considering the series nearly crashed and burned in the early 70’s on at least two separate occasions. Say what you will about Lazenby, but he would’ve eventually grown into the role, and made it his own. Hell the action scenes and sense of spectacle found in films like DAF, LALD, and TMWTGG pale in comparison to those found in OHMSS.
