    I don't know if this is the right thread for my concern.

    But I'm thinking that we have 'Bond Girls Are Forever', it's released in both book and documentary
    But why don't we have for the villains? It would be interesting if we have Bond Villains Are Forever like those in Bond Girls, it will also have a book and Documentary.

    Also the Bond Girls Are Forever have Rittenhouse Trading Cards, I think it would also be interesting for the Bond Villains to have it too.

    I wish we can have it this year, for the 60th anniversary or to the Global James Bond Day.

    The sad thing about a documentary is that a lot of the actors who played villains have passed away. Every single villain from DN to MR. Remarkably, all the living Bond villains still have very active careers.

    Yes, indeed. Archive footage is the best they can come of with for several of our villains. Same with the music documentary. Think about it. Barry, Martin, Hamlish, Kamen, ... are no longer among us.

    Those John Cork documentaries from the 90s and 00s were made at just the right time when most of the cast and crew were still alive. Even close friends and family of Fleming were still around to speak about him.

    Those were absolutely amazing. I regret they never covered GE and beyond.

    I love the use of music in those documentaries, along with the narrations. They were such a delight!

    Yeah I always like to watch those shortly after watching the movie it’s covering. Very glad they’re included in the bluray set.

    Only in my opinion, I think Australia was really not that exotic for a Bond film, it looks ordinary.
    And it depends on the plot too.

    Curious what folks here think of it as a location in MI:2? The ending at the opera house park is somewhat infamous.

    I'm biased because I really love the film but I think the Australia-set sequences in that one are brilliant and look wonderful.

    Could you make Bond a bit more deep cover? So he lives this playboy lifestyle the whole time as his cover of being a top agent- he doesn't live his own life in his Chelsea flat and go into the office, but instead he has very undercover briefings from M or his agents as he cruises around top hotels on the continent etc. so that his high profile targets can never spot him. Give him a bit of a different flavour and make a bit more sense of his Aston Martins and champagne lifestyle.

    It would certainly not help at the box office to revert back to a shallow Bond without emotional depth as Craig had started. Shorter movies would not be welcome in this day and age where television shows use the time to their advantage of taking the time to develop characters, so keeping the films closer to 3 hours works better. Keeping Bond more grounded and gadget-free will keep the films unique from all the CGI-fested super hero movies that are released every week at the theatre. There were good reasons why the series nearly fell on its face during the 70's, 80's, and 90's and with DAD being such a disappointment.

    Shorter runtimes = more showings per day = more money. That's just fact. I don't think anyone's going to complain about Bond, Marvel or any other property having shorter films if the time is used wisely and effectively.

    The new DOCTOR STRANGE is two hours and six minutes and feels incredibly efficient. I’d like to see Bond back at that pace.

    “Art house?” I get the soap opera criticism, but what do you mean by art house? None of these feel anything like A24 productions.

    He means the hollow brooding scenes in Skyfall. QoS was a good example of arthouse infleunces done right.

    Agree very much. There is a way to make things more believable and this is one of them. You have made many good suggestions throughout the thread that I hope reach the studio somehow.

    Fair enough. I still like the movies but some things either need to change or be dropped entirely. Give me human drama sure, but don’t overdo it like the DC films tended to do. It was very hard to sympathize with M’s death when a lot of the problems happened because of her. In both timelines.

    Agree very much. There is a way to make things more believable and this is one of them. You have made many good suggestions throughout the thread that I hope reach the studio somehow.

    I agree with both of you. I still would love to see May get a chance to shine one day. And Felix Leiter get more involved in the action.
