I call this "Colonel Venus' Law of Creative Anomalies."
I've generalized the theorem. Let D be a film director, and B be the upcoming James Bond movie at any given point in time:
Colonel Venus' Law of Creative Anomalies (Generalized):
The closer we get to the announcement of D's next movie without any Bond news, the more likely it will get that D's next movie and B are one and the same.
For example, back in 2018:
The closer we get to the announcement of Danny Boyle's next movie without any Bond news, the more likely it will get that Danny Boyle's next movie and B25 are one and the same.
Where B25 is, of course, No Time to Die.

The lack of news is getting very unusual. Martin Campbell was first rumoured to direct CR ("Bond 21" back then) in the summer of 2003, only around half a year after the release of DAD. And then he was more strongly rumoured in late 2004, two years after the release of DAD.
We are now two and a half years after the release of NTTD. Either still no director is attached, OR a director is attached and they managed to keep it a secret so far. The latter option gets more likely with each passing day. And few filmmakers are as secretive as Nolan.
And some food for thought:
Elapsed time between the end of filming of LTK and the announcement of the director of GoldenEye: 5 and a half years
Elapsed time between the end of filming of NTTD and present day: 4 and a half years
In other news the youtuber has responded and apologised for his faulty prediction.
I was getting worried he wouldn’t own up to his error and severe lack of judgement.
Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have announced that they are still tired from No Time to Die and they will wait another year or two to even consider going back to the character.
Do you have a link? 🤔
You have changed their nature.
It's a joke
Could be the case in all honesty. But who knows. Would be nice to be caught off guard a bit.
I know 🙄
It's looking increasingly likely it will be 2027, as we continue to not hear anything as we slide into the summer months. I can assume the usual suspects have found themselves caught up in other projects by now, and won't be directing the next film. If Chris Nolan was directing we would hear something, and it would happen sooner rather than later, same with Villeneuve. These guys aren't waiting around until 2027, they're too busy with their own stuff. I just don't see a writer, director and actor announcement coming in the next 12 - 14 months, which would have to be the case for them to still hit that November 2026 target. Like I said, as long as we get a Bond film for the ages at the end of it, the wait will be worth it.
The good news is we're already at least 40% completed.
Thanks Nostradamus. Considering you're right about everything else, I'm sure you're bang-on about this too!
I'll mark it in my calendar!
Not ruled out, but it's becoming less likely with each week that passes.
Nah, they only need 2 years.
I really don’t know if it’ll be a 2026 or ‘27 release (maybe even later shock-horror), but we simply don’t have a clear picture at this time.
They only needed 2 years 2 years ago.
Yeah, that's why longer gaps don't mean better movies.
On an entirely different note, here is a fun fact for the entire MI6 Community: Chris Nolan could be writing the screenplay of Bond 26 this very moment!
Kidding of course, Nolan’s likely got better things to do!
Yeah but do you have the link to the joke???
1. between the first of September and the end of this year: announcement of the Bond actor, the other Bond 26 actors, the movie title, and the writer-director (Nolan) at a press conference in London
2. Spring 2025: filming begins
3. Summer 2026: world premiere
