for today, here are 5 I love:

    1. Charade (Audrey and Cary forever)

    2. My Favorite Year (wonderful, hilarious Peter O'Toole)

    3. The Holiday (because of Kate Winslet and Jack Black)

    4. Billy Elliott (the music, the story, the soaring ending)

    5. Bridget Jones's Diary (the 1st one; so well played and witty; I love it)

    1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
    2. Drive
    3. The Godfather
    4. The Thing
    5. Die Hard

And many many more. It's hard to put numbers. I couldn't possibly really rank them all.

    5. Die Hard 1988

How come you didn't include any Star Trek movie?

@4EverBonded, I also like The Holiday (not in my top 5 though). The character of Winslet is very interesting and Jack Black was very funny, especially in that scene when he hums famous movie themes. Plus, there's Don Altobello!

I don't know if I could make a list of my all-time favorite films in order, because I like so many and it's hard to pick a lot. But usually if someone asks me what my favorite film of all time is, I'd say The Dark Knight. My Top 5 Bond films would probably all make my Top 50 films ever list though (at least the Top 4 would).

    It's probably something like this:

    1. Magnolia (1999)
    2. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
    3. The Godfather (1972)
    4. Casino Royale (2006)
    5. Rear Window (1954)

    In no particular order...

    1) Star Wars (all of them, but if I had to pick one, Empire Strikes Back)
    2) Oblivion (a close contender with Blade Runner)
    3) Casino Royale
    4) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    5) The Last Samurai

Great! Good to see my number 3 in your 8th place.

Oh, I almost listed Lawrence of Arabia and Chinatown. My actual list of favorites is pretty long. :)

The Verdict with Paul Newman, too.

I'm ashamed to say I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia. Almost bought the Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray a couple months back but decided against it for fear of not enjoying it or only liking it enough to see once.

I know we spoke of 'Lawrence of Arabia' a while back (I did with someone, now I can't recall who), and I still have yet to see it. College is ending here in a few weeks, I think I'll check it out when I get to summer break.

@QsAssistant, that's how I felt. I wanted to blind buy it, but I worried that it might not have replay value.

    1. Casablanca
    2. Goldfinger
    3. The Godfather
    4. The Matrix
    5. Inglorious Bastards

Believe me, it's an incredibly addictive film, especially for a four hour film. You'll want to replay it for the visuals alone.

Also I believe it was me you spoke to ;)
  • Any day of the week: Apocalypse Now and 2001: A Space Odyssey. This particular day joined by Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari, The Third Man and Blade Runner.

@StirredNotShaken, ahh, it was you. I really need to see it, then. Hell, I'll probably just blind buy it soon, then. I feel like a first time viewing on blu-ray on a nice TV would make me love it even more.

Neither have I, @Creasy47. The good news is that all three of Leone's Man With No Name films are on Netflix. I plan on watching them in a row once my college term ends.

Great films there. I've got 'High Plains Drifter' and 'Joe Kidd' on DVD. Be sure to them check out.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, on the Instant Queue? Nice, I had no idea. I use someone else's account, and ever since the format got screwed up, I don't even bother with it. Netflix has disappointed me for years.

Just search "Sergio Leone" and there they are.

Will do! I know the Search button works, it's just that it doesn't show me 'New Releases - Recently Added - Genre A - Z,' etc. It just goes from my Queue to Recently Watched to a bunch of random 'Because You Watched...____' recommendation categories. Pisses me off.

@yogi1, gotta have 'Terminator 2' on there. It's one of those rare sequels that's better than the original.

I disagree. I much prefer the original.

Me too. The suspense and terror in that movie is very refreshing.

And Arnie is far more effective an unstoppable killing machine rather than a robot with a heart and some one liners!
