  • Yes, =D> I don't watch the films I love, to find faults in them.

I do because the better the film is, the less faults there are. No film is perfect, even casablanca and citizen kane, but less is more, as in less problems equals more quality.

I can totally respect that opinion even if I like SPECTRE more than you do.
  • I prefer a beautiful woman.

I think most people like Spectre more than I do.

  • The first...half of SP is magnificent, with you there. The second simply becomes a story with some conveniences in it, but still lots to enjoy. A better than average Bond film, to me.

It's just so damned beautifully shot! The soundtrack is really pretty good. Craig gives a flawless performance. Lea is so Grace Kelly in it. Blofeld's 'cuckoo' is twisted and haunting. Best henchman since Oddjob. Q is very engaging & funny.

    Movie sucks though...

It is beautifully shot. It looks fantastic on my new flatscreen TV, it's got bright colors and the yellow tinting isn't bad on it at all. It looks dialed back on it. The soundtrack is growing on me but It's nothing on Barry and Arnold's efforts. It's a classy Bond movie with style I love every minute of it. Q is my favorite character in it.

Best bond film of the decade! ;)

Spectre is rising, though its difficult at this point to rate it against other movies I have watched hundreds of times throughout my life. Though after several viewings Spectre is very good. Films gain personal merit not just for the film itself, though memories attached to that film.

It's funny how @Chrisisall amusingly says " Movie sucks though "
As some of the most entertaining videos I've seen have involved
    sucking ! :D
  • It's not as simple as does it suck or not. There's a lot of great stuff in SP, it just falls apart after the Austria stuff. The opening sequence in Mexico is magnificent, for example.

Had my first watch on bluray on a decent sized screen last night and had a blast.

It's a great ride and really is Dan's TB with everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it.

It's only in the cold light of day when I come on here and start analysing stuff that I start to get annoyed at the film. Turn your brain off and sit back with some popcorn and it's a cracking romp.

I guess SP is like hiring a high class prostitute. It's beautiful to look at, exciting at the time and you have a lot of fun. But then later when you think about it as you slink back to your wife you feel a bit empty and disgusted with yourself at having enjoyed it.

(That's a metaphor by the way!)

Spot on! And not at all a bad thing (metaphorically speaking).

To (over)analyse SP is as futile an attempt as to do the same with GE or TSWLM or GF.

    SP is pure entertainment.

Where would I rank SP? Possibly in my top 10, between #5 and #10.

    Really, that high?

Still for me it's around the eleven-ish spot, next to SF.

Based on one viewing, maybe. I think it'll go down as one of those Bond films that while I can acknowledge it's faults, overall, I enjoy it. I'm currently working through the films in random order. When i'm done, I will be turning my attention back to Spectre.
