My ranking of the Craig films goes:
    1. CR
    2. SF
    3. SP
    4. QoS

CR does just about everything right in my book and it'll be hard for any Bond film to knock it off its #1 spot in my ranking. SF featured a great villain and was a terrific sendoff for Judi Dench's M; it's a very entertaining, re-watchable film IMO. SP had a great balance of darkness and humor, and did a good job bringing things full circle. I still like QoS, but just as a film, it felt a little weaker and less remarkable than the other Craig movies.

I do like SPECTRE, think it has a good mixture of action, humour, location, girls (could have used MB more!), villains and set pieces …but what I think is really stopping me enjoying it as much as I should be, is the fact that it's trying to encompass all the DC films, it just feels forced, I think if I can ignore that, and that's a BIG if, then I'd enjoy it more. Still think it's a top film and very entertaining. May go and see it again before it finishes playing in my town and will of course get the blu-ray the minute it's released (probably mid March 2016) and enjoy it in the comfort of my own home (if I have one then!).
  • Top ten for sure and my second favorite Daniel Craig film.
  • Ummmmm I might be overreacting here and I'm definitely going to be for sure after I see it again tomorrow, but this might be my favorite Bond ever. It has its flaws for sure, it's not the BEST bond film but its looking like my FAVORITE BOND MOVIE!!!!
Cannot wait to see it again and again and again.

At this point it's looking at the 20th or 21st spot. All other three Craig Era films reside in my Top Ten. I'll give it another shot on Saturday. I really do hope that it improves.

That is a shame that you didn't enjoy Spectre. Personally I found it to be a hoot.

It's probably an overreaction as you suggest, but an understandable one.

Great that it had such an impressive initial impact but I'm curious to see how you feel about it after you've seen it on blu ray along with some of the others in quick succession. I find that's when the best impressions can be formed (back to back with other Bond flicks).

I don't care if it is heresy or will get me tarred and feathered :)) but my ranking is this:

So you finally like a Craig Era Bond film, and it's one that I did not care for at all.

Hey! CR has always been in my Top 4 :)

SP is just even better for me.
    You didn't like SP?? :(

The thing for me is that the Craig era contains one ultimate, 'best ever' Bondfilm. The problem is that the elements that make up said film are not all present in one movie...

If you take the character writing & plotting from CR, the hard-boiled grit & pacing of QoS, the drama of SF and the stunt-work, entertainment factor & classic Bond elements from SP - then you the best Bond film ever.

    In any case:

    CR
    SP
    QoS
    SF

SF never did it for me. Tried to please too broad an audience. More like a final hurrah for the 2012 Olympics.

Going off of my last Bondathon, this is where I'll place SP for now. I have only seen it once and I only expect it to go up from this point on after multiple viewings.

    1.) GE
    2.) FYEO
    3.) CR
    4.) DN
    5.) QoS
    6.) SP
    7.) LALD
    8.) FRWL
    9.) TSWLM
    10.) OP
    11.) OHMSS
    12.) LTK
    13.) TWINE
    14.) AVTAK
    15.) TB
    16.) TLD
    17.) GF
    18.) TND
    19.) DAF
    20.) YOLT
    21.) SF

Somehow, I knew you'd like it. I'm guessing because the movie mixed lighter moments with heavier ones.

As of this moment............list for Craig films would be:-

    1/ CR
    2/ SF
    3/ SP
    4/ QOS

SF & SP are very close.........QOS is way behind the others...........mainly down to poor film making!

Normally I wouldn't dare ranking a Bond movie after seeing it only twice at the cinema.

That's why I came up with the earlier post and this:
    1. OHM S S
    2. O P
    3. G E
    4. C R
    5. T LD
    6. F R WL
    7. FY E O

Spectre seems to have the best of both (all) worlds of my favourite Bond movies.

My best Bond experiences were TLD, GE and CR. In all three cases I was walking on air after seeing those movies for the first time at the cinema. Now Spectre has joined that club.

Spectre has a lot of big homages and/or similarities to many of my favourite sequences (not necessarily favourite movies) and/or characters in Bond movies like TWINE, GE, FRWL, OHMSS, YOLT etc.

Furthermore Craig becoming a "full" Bond by doing and saying things that last could be seen in the Brosnan and Moore era while still making the role unmistakably his own makes me love Spectre even more.

It's obvious now where Spectre will land in my ranking and probably stay. I guess you can figure it out by yourselves.

Also this promotes Craig to viceroy in my ranking of the actors.
I don't have the heart to dethrone Timothy Dalton, otherwise Daniel Craig would now be my favourite Bond.
But as TLD was the Bond movie that made me a fan I just can't. I was 13 years old when TLD hit the screens and it was a life-changing experience.

@bondjames, anyone willing to acknowledge the fact that TWINE is a lesser film to DAD is on my short list. :D And you, sir, at least put TB in your top 5. I find the lack of support for TB on this forum... disturbing. :-)

TWINE is Brosnan's weakest film by far! Michael Apted short of destroyed all potential TWINE had.

I love TWINE, and I, too, find it crazy that TB does not get as much love around here as it should.

I have it ranked at #5. That's based on the thrill of seeing it for the first time. It may fall to #7 after I see Dr. No again. I can safely say it will stay in the top half (12) of my rankings.

Thanks @DarthDimi. Yes. I've noticed that TB is a polarizing film for some.

w2bond did great analysis on the Bond movie ranking thread where he found it was one of the most divisive films (some loving it and some not being too kind towards it - see links below). The underwater scenes kill it for some (that was the conclusion).

For me it's one of the best (dialogue, Connery, Fiona, Domino, Largo, Nassau....did I forget to mention dialogue?). It's like a big vacation. I think CR really evokes TB in those early Nassau scenes.

If I want a Connery Bond hit I'll watch TB. It's my favourite performance from him as Bond. He's supremely confident in the role here and just seems to breeze through it.

Domino is an underrated Bond girl as Claudine Auger really evokes that Fleming Bond girl feel. There's great cinematography - you really get a feel for the location. I'm not bothered by the underwater scenes either as they are accompanied by Barry's first (of many) truly classic score.

I saw Spectre this evening and was disappointed. I went in with high expectations, given the stellar ending that SkyFall gave us, but found myself leaving the theater unhappy. I hope it'll improve over time, but for right now, I'd have to rank it pretty low- somewhere around the bottom five, frankly.

Couldn´t agree more! I´m a fan of TB myself and I also think that it´s Connery´s best performance as JB.

    I felt the same.

I'm glad it's not just me! A lot of the reviews I've been reading on here are super positive which makes me feel like I didn't see the same Spectre that everyone else saw, hahaha.

Watched it for at second time last night. And now I am really starting to love this film! It is actually so brilliantly made from start to finish. If there are any problems with it its solely to do with writing, not the execution which is damn perfect. The acting, the direction, the cinematography is all so great! And really I don't care about the at times incomplete writing when the overall experience is so fun.

My only proper complaint is that it might be too much. There are so many ideas, so many heavy scenes, the film has practically three different potential endings. Its a lot to taket in. Almost overkill...

Right now its a sure top five for me, possibly top three. Its that good! But I obviously need many more viewings of it. Which I am most definitely looking forward to! :D

After my first viewing I'd have to say...

    1) CR
    2) SF
    3) QoS
    4) SP

I couldn't even imagine ranking it against the others yet. I just know it's the least satisfied I have felt about a DC outing thus far. That being said, I didn't hate it. I just liked the others more on the initial watch. I have read other members liking it more after repeated viewings and I sure hope it's the case with me.
