Skyfall would have been a better movie if Pierce was the lead in lieu of Daniel

    Yeah!

For me, I love each actor as 007! :)
  • I could see Skyfall working better with Dalton to its not just a brosnan thing.

    Now you're speaking my language.

    Why?

Because Pierce is an inferior actor to Daniel.

That can be debated. Only speaking of the Bond movies I agree. Otherwise, nope.

I agree with @suavejmf. Craig is overall a better actor than Brosnan I'd say. And I don't hate Brosnan but he could never get to Craig's level.

I agree also. Brosnan has limited range compared to Craig imho (and I've seen nearly everything he's done).

What he does well though, he does very well indeed.

Hmmm...let's see. Limited range, ROFLMAO really.

    Mamma Mia
    The Matador

    Thomas Crown Affair
    The November Man
    Love Punch

    The Ghostwriter
    Seraphim Falls

    etc.

Brosnan is convincing in all his movies, no matter if pure comedy, musical, gritty thriller, action, drama.

If anything both actors are fine and can be called evenly good.

@BondJasonBond006, I said limited range compared to Craig. I stand by that assessment.

Yes. Brosnan is just a classic leading man with limited range. Craig is first rate actor who can also be a leading man too. I'm not slating Brosnan, he just has more limited ability.

On that I agree, I never said Brosnan was a top actor. But imho neither is Craig.
Sean Connery was the only top actor of the 6 Bond actors imho (Oscar worthy that is)
  • I worded the question wrong. I'm not saying Pierce is a better actor than Craig, its just to do with characterisation.
  • @BondJasonBond006 did you see Mamma Mia? Although, I guess the main problem would be hearing it in Brosnan's case. Yikes.

The question wasn't which actor sings better.

I get the point, and the answer from my perspective is no. Definitely not. Brosnan would not have been able to deliver SF as ably as Craig did. Craig gave an extremely nuanced performance and I'm grateful that he was the Bond actor in place when they chose to make that film.

Brosnan would have been able to do Skyfall.
But he certainly wouldn't have been better as SF (as is CR and QOS) was written for Craig.

I have to say such questions are highly hypothetical and to some extend useless.

Had they adapted Skyfall for Brosnan, it would have been a different movie.

No, it was range. Mamma Mia only proves that musicals are NOT a part of Brosnan's.

I agree that this movie looked like a Brosnan movie. But I think it's good with Craig as it is.

EDIT: Nope. Actually I don't agree. I thoguht this was a thread for SPECTRE. My opinion above stands for SPECTRE and not SF. SF was great movie on its own and didn't felt like a Brosnan movie and it's good with Craig.

Brosnan does makes funnier faces than Craig.

Anybody remember Craig in CR right after the defibrillator where he did a bit if a Brosnan interpretation with the "I'd never dream of it" line?

I'm a fan of both Brosnan and Craig btw.
  • Haha can you imagine all the Painface moments we'd be getting if Broz was in Skyfall?

    -Fighting Patrice on the train
    -Working out at MI6
-Cutting the shrapnel out of his chest
-Holding Patrice over the tower ledge
-Grappling the goon in the komodo lair
    -Running through the London streets
-Bonus underwater painface at Skyfall lake
-Super maximum painface as M dies

Pierce Brosnan couldn't have saved SKYFALL. No one could. That movie was a travesty of plot holes and misogyny.

You didn't like it, did you? :-? Just kidding.

Lol can you imagine what Connery's Bond would have done as soon as Silva made a pass at him?

Film would've been shorter than QoS.

Instead of all the drab pain Brosnan would have brought in some witty and cool fun, something that would save Skyfall from its utter boredome and mediocecy.
