Now, why haven't I thought of that?! Dalton as The Shadow! Sheer perfection!

Shame though, I've already cast my vote...

I will allow you to change it.

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-
    David Niven-
    George Lazenby-2
    Roger Moore-
    Timothy Dalton - 4
    Pierce Brosnan-
    Daniel Craig - 1

Tim is the most super of them all. He is currently in talks with the producers of the upcoming remake of The Shadow thanks to this thread.

Nelson, Connery, Niven, Moore, Brosnan-maybe you could be a supervillain or something, but you sure ain t superhero material. Subpar hero, perhaps. Good to see that no one wanted Brosnan as Batman

New question in the same vein:

Which Bond would you rather see as Tarzan?

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-
    David Niven-
    George Lazenby-
    Roger Moore-
    Timothy Dalton-

Well, Moore was approached back in the 50's.

Really ? Is that what that infamous OP scene was about?

That I couldn't say. I think he was approached to star in either a T.V series or a series of films. But Moore said he couldn't keep his stomach sucked in for long enough. I'll have to dig it out of Moore's biography.

    That s interesting.

Bond connection: James Pierce played him in Tarzan and the Golden Lion in 1927, the birth year of Roger Moore.

And Christopher Lambert of Greystoke fame was considered as Bond after Moore quit. Too thick French accent, sadly. Great actor.

Also, you have Tarzan s New York Adventure from 1942(great film!) starring the ultimate Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller, which in Norwegian was called Tarzan In New York.

    Quite interesting.

Had a quick read of Moore's bio, but couldn't find anything. Any info on Moore's brush with Tarzan would be much appreciated.

Well, if anyone is indeed looking for a good connection between Tarzan and Bond, then yes they are connected... Via Wold Newton Family... Something that was started and initially set up by Philip José Farmer in his Tarzan Alive book and its successor Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life. I think the first book is quite easy to track down in the UK and perhaps Europe. But, it isn't available in the US, as far as I know.

This from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?

It's originated from Tarzan Alive and Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life by Philip Jose Farmer, which created a "relevant" crossover fiction universe that Alan Moore's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was inspired from. In a way, they are part of the Wold Newton Family.

My pleasure. I do recommend the first book, Tarzan Alive heavily. If you get around to it, I think you'll enjoy it.

Well, we can't have that, now can we?

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-
    David Niven-
    George Lazenby-2
    Roger Moore- 1
    Timothy Dalton- 1
    Pierce Brosnan-
    Daniel Craig-

Lazenby, the most ape-man of them all (Sorry George). I think his 'Me Tarzan, you Jane' would be very convincing....

Not a single vote for Nelson, Niven, Brosnan or Craig. With the smallest victory, George Lazenby has hereby been cast as the new George of the Jungle.
    Another casting question:

Which Bond would you rather see as Sherlock Holmes?

(Yes, I know Moore did play him)

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-
    David Niven-
    George Lazenby-
    Roger Moore-
    Timothy Dalton-
    Pierce Brosnan-
    Daniel Craig-

    Timothy Dalton!

Even though, before he did The Spy Who Loved Me, Roger Moore did star as Holmes alongside Patrick Macnee as Watson. He played the character faithfully but... I still couldn't see him suitable for the role.

Pierce Brosnan parodied Sherlock Holmes by actually wearing the disguise at a masquerade ball in an episode of Remington Steele.

    Haha.

Craig for me. This is the only time when his blonde hair & somewhat unrefined looks won't be a problem.

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-1
    David Niven-
    George Lazenby-2
    Roger Moore- 1
    Timothy Dalton- 1
    Pierce Brosnan-
    Daniel Craig-1

You are on the wrong page, @bondjames, but thanks for making Brosnan the only living Bond unwanted as Tarzan.

Sorry about that @Thunderfinger. This thread changes topic so fast it's difficult to keep up.

Regarding Holmes, it's a tough call between Moore or Niven. Both seem the most intelligent Bonds. I'll give it to Niven....just.

    Barry Nelson-
    Sean Connery-
    David Niven-1
    George Lazenby-
    Roger Moore-
    Timothy Dalton-1

Maybe make it an announcement? Anyway, I like it. But sure, Niven's a given here for me too.
