Somewhat positive for me as I think 50% of DC films are great and the other not so great, DC5/Bond25 will be the deciding film for me regarding DC Bond tenure.
  • I put very positive. CR I admired and appreciated what they were going for but didn't really enjoy and I hated QoS. So if you'd asked me this a few years ago it would have been somewhat positive veering on negative. But SF was great, SP was even better, and while I wasn't excited for Craig's return at first if they continue this trend of getting better and better with a YOLT adaptation it could be my favourite Bond film. So no complaints at the minute. I love the direction they're going in and SP has even made me in retrospect like his first two a bit better, because the wait/build up for all the classic Bond stuff has made it feel really earned.

I'm very positive about the Craig era, although I admit that SP was a messy little step back. However, ever since DC took over the role, he made a very unique stamp and owned it, right from the get-go, and with supreme confidence.

I didn't know too much about Craig before CR, but have since been able to explore his diverse filmography, including LOGAN LUCKY, this past weekend.

I apologize and give notice to the anti-Craigites, but I must express that we have been gifted quite a wonderful actor as Bond, and I look forward to what he will give us in B25...

While I have no intentions whatsoever to disparage anything that's come before, the Craig era has consistently supplied material of the highest quality in terms of acting and production value. I've had mixed responses to the stories of the last three films, but if story would serve as the ultimate barometer, many Bond films would suffer tremendously, starting with some of the Connery Bonds. When people knock on the Craig Bonds over their somewhat weaker stories, I often feel like they're forgetting what came before...

I agree about the stories, but they are not my main issue. What I don't like is Bond's lack of sophistication, snobbery and the overall refined nature of the character that they seem to have forgotten about.

I've been debating this for days, see-sawing back and forth between 'Somewhat Positive' and 'Somewhat Negative.' His first two films make my Top 6 or so, whereas his latter two installments make the Bottom Two. I think B25 will be the decider for me, because right now I'd likely fall directly in the middle.

However, if I was discussing Craig's actual take on the role and how I've perceived him in the era, then I'd definitely go with 'Somewhat Positive,' as he shined for me in CR-SF. In terms of general entertainment, it's a tough decision.

That's the same for me SF and SP are very low in the rankings, where CR and QoS I rate highly I have said it before it's down to Craig's character in the respective films.

Anyway criag is getting the chance brosnan never did. To redeem himself after two shitty films. Will this be his FYEO?

Will be interesting to see what tone Eon go with for DC5, I am hoping a more down to earth film

I just want to see DC get pissed off and go ona a rampage against blofeld and spectre to conclude this continuity. Kind of like Qos i guess but more appealing to the masses this time.

Gritty and Bond taking no prisoners no matter who the Villain is, if Blofeld did not return I would not be that bothered due to messing up the character so badly in SP.

Very positive. CR, QoS and SF are awesome Bond movies to me - right next to the Connery classics of DN, FRWL, GF and TB. The Craig era to me is the best since Connery - but Sean remains King even some of his movies have been surpassed by CR.

    Somewhat positive.

CR is excellent, Skyfall is very good, QOS has grown on me over time. The only real downer for me is where they took Craig's arc in Spectre.

I'm surprised that so many people can easily vote one of Craig's films lower than 4.0/10 or even 3.0/10. I know a lot more movies that are truly groce and deserve such a rating. Not the four Craig films. Furthermore, there's never "HATE" involved in any of the Bond films.

    So here's my list
    09.0/10: "Casino Royale"
    05.5/10: "Quantum Of Solace"
    08.5/10: "Skyfall"
    07.5/10: "SPECTRE"
    07.6/10: AVERAGE

And to compare it with Brosnan's four film:
    06.5/10: "GoldenEye"
    05.0/10: "Tomorrow Never Dies"
07.0/10: "The World Is Not Enough"
    04.0/10: "Die Another Day"
    05.6/10: AVERAGE

Very positive. CR and SF were top-notch, and I'd classify both QoS and SP as "the parts are greater than the sum" movies (there are some really good scenes, and the ending of QoS is one of the defining scenes in the series, in my book). The talent, especially in front of the screen, that the Craig era has commanded is very impressive. I do think that Mendes has tilted the series a bit too far into nostalgia/bloat and I hope that someone else helms Bond 25.

    CR 7.5/10

    Quantum of Solace 3/10

    SF 4/10

    SP 5/10

    Craig era overall 5/10

Seems a reasonable way to go about things Mendes:

    CR - 9.5/10
    QOS - 5.5/10
    SF - 8/10
    SP - 6.5/10

    Overall - 29.5/40 average of 7.4/10.

Thats a pretty solid run of films I guess and overall and despite the glaring faults I am pretty happy with the Craig era.

And certainly when compared with the rest we are in a golden era and only Sean has come close to consistently delivering similar scores.

    Sean

    DN - 8.5/10
    FRWL - 10/10
    GF - 8/10
    TB - 5.5/10
    YOLT - 7/10
    DAF - 3.5/10

    Overall - 42/60 average of 7/10

    George

    OHMSS - 10/10

Overall 10/10 average of 10/10 (The George era is going to be pretty tough to beat for any future Bond!!)

    Rog

    LALD - 5.5/10
    TMWTGG - 3/10
    TSWLM - 7.5/10
    MR - 7.5/10
    FYEO - 7.5/10
    OP - 8/10
    AVTAK - 5/10

    Overall 44/70 average of 6.2/10

    Tim

    TLD - 8/10
    LTK - 6/10

    Overall 14/20 average of 7/10

    Pierce

    GE - 7.5/10
    TND - 7/10
    TWINE - 5.5/10
    DAD - 2.5/10

    Overall 22.5/40 average of 5.6/10
