I am watching "Welcome to Japan, Mr. Bond".
It is in the extras to YOLT, presented in HD and runtime is 52 minutes.

I already watched it roughly one week ago, but this is so great I have to see it again.

It features Desmond Llewelyn and Lois Maxwell in their roles as Q and Moneypenny, especially written and filmed for this TV Special. I think their screen time totals something like 10 minutes but I would have to check back on that.

The story is so funny. It's basically some secret woman planning to marry James Bond. You'll see her driving in a limousine talking to her chauffeur.

Meanwhile Moneypenny is contemplating losing James to some woman and she wonders who that may be. She's going through MI6 dossiers of several women that have played a role in James' past.
Later on she's consulting Q in his laboratory.
The end to the story is quite amusing I must say.

It features a lot of clips from the first five Bond movies and of course that is always a treat to watch. Mostly it's Bond with one of his women.

    I can recommend this.
I may watch it again at Christmas actually as it ties in nicely with OHMSS.

Now my cat has joined me. For some reason she always has particular fascination with Bond films; it seems I can't really watch one without her tagging along!

The film gets especially good from here; Bond is taking the helicopter ride up to Piz Gloria. The first half is good too, but this is a Bond film I think where the middle and second half shines the brightest.

I have to say, I think OHMSS is the only Bond film that did an exceptionally good job at implementing Blofeld as the main villain. No doubt a big part of that is the fact that Telly Savalas is the best Blofeld. He even fights Bond for once, and it makes for a great climax.

Bond caught; the talk between him and Blofeld here is such a good scene. OHMSS may have my favorite second half of any Bond film, including a great final act. It’s just so strong in almost every part. The ski chase, village sequence, shootout at Piz Gloria, showdown with Blofeld, and tragic ending are all amazing scenes.

On the ski chase now. One of my favorite scenes of the Bond series.

Unfortunately, I really doubt we will get a Bond film as good as OHMSS again. What an incredible Bond film.

Been awhile since I've had some time to get my Bond fix. Let's relieve some Holiday stress with Bond, crack some jokes, enjoy the suspense, humor and suavity of Sir Roger in:
    FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

.....first I have to adjust the sound.............okay that's more like it.....

    Gunbarrel-

although Conti's score is slightly dated this IS tradition Bond gunbarrel music.

    Love it!

The circle pops rather than opens.....

The helicopter reminds me of the one where Superman rescues Lois.

Roger's pompadour is getting messed up. I must say I really do miss the PTS that has nothing to do with the main film.

When I was a kid, being not only a Bond nut, but also a gunbarrel nut, I was shocked by that on first watch. And I vividly remember imagining that guy walking through the graveyard was the main villain, before he was revealed to be Bond.

    Yeah, me too.

Is Blofeld in the wheelchair due to being caught by the neck in the tree, or being tossed around like a yo-yo in the bathosub?

Doesn't matter, I like this Blofeld actually.

Titles: music video style. not my number one favorite, but it still differentiates itself.

For the ballad style song this one is fairly iconic.

    Yeah, me too.

I was a gunbarrel nut as a kid too. It reminded me of the first three when the dot gets smaller and disappears.

St. George's scene. I wonder is all the officers here drink the exact amount of cream and in their coffee as in SPY?

Unlike the similar section of TND, this sequence moves pretty fast.

Freddie Gray has a nice office- looks like Edward Fox's a bit.

Melina's dad reminds me of Robin Leach.

I should turn in my Bond fandom badge as I can't remember this actors name. I'm ashamed.

    Damn.............

Stefan Kelipha was in the 1983 masterpiece SUPERMAN III.

Moneypenny!!!!!! Roger brought his hat and has a trenchcoat.

    I miss Bernard Lee here.

To this day I love this section in Madrid. Bond looking the business in that green suede jacket, RAGE. The greatest Bong song of all time.

    Try to keep it up.............

    good vibration..........

The two guards who capture Bond don't look that imposing, especially the blond disco king guy who looks like someone Jim Rockford could beat up.

Into the water he goes. Not a problem for Bond.

Melina looks great after she harpoons the guy behind Bond.

    Bob Simmons.............

here we are my fave chase in the Moore era.

Drive in the Country............I was jamming to that earlier on my guitar, playing the lick over and over again.....

The Roger nod..............I used to do that to people if we were at a stoplight and they made eye contact..........it was funny when I was 10.

Somewhere there's a cool thread about the offices in the Bond films.

My favorite Roger "Bond, James Bond" after LALD.

    Get cracking, 007!!!

Tanner actually is reminding me of Edward Fox the way he gives Bond a hard time.

"Try not to muck it up again"

    :))

For a while, I used to clear my throat after seeing him do the same in Moonraker before meeting Dr. Goodhead.

That is a great little moment. It makes no sense for the bad guys not to shoot at him, but I think such breaks from reality are perfectly acceptable when they are handled like this.

    So cordial, sincere and polite.

Even though Bond doesn't really have as many gadgets in this one, FYEO does have some great Q scenes.

Perhaps that's why it feels so fresh and not obligatory.

    Nice! I should try that.

There are lots of Rogerisms that are helpful or fun in real life. I remember some kid gave me a push, and I looked back and said "Thank you" in my best Roger voice. By recess we were hanging out.

Kristatos - a different type of villain, really. Definitely an a-hole and exudes arrogance. The way he rejects Ferrara's handshake.

Roger's reaction to Bibi reminds me of his reaction when Miss Piggy was coming on to him.
