This plane sequence looks hopelessly unrealistic but still manages to build tension with the stuntwork. It's a shame that Bond and Gobinda's fight ends so quickly and Kamal just dies right after.

Louis Jourdan's facial expressions while piloting the plane are hilarious, though.

He's got some amazing expressions there.

I like to do that sound over the littlest things. There was some ice on the ground today and I felt compelled to do that as I slid a bit.

I may have to steal that from you, lol.
Hahaha I can't stop saying that aloud now. We will have to make a game of it when we do AVTAK.

A shot each time he says it?

    Things could get ugly quickly!!

So I had an argument with someone on here at sometime. Bond brings down the plane by screwing with the rudders (or whatever those flaps are called) using his feet. I say that counts as a kill, as much as if he shot the Kamal in the head. The other person said no, this doesn't count as a clear kill. Anyone?

I might say yes. It does the job.

Every kill compilation I've seen includes it. First he messes with the wiring and then with the flaps. He seems pretty responsible to me.

Another Bond film which brought a nice cheer from the audience as the credits rolled. Great stuff!

Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure. All we wanted was a sweet distraction for an hour or two, and OP provided it. We definitely need to do this more in the future.

"James Bond Will Return In From A View To A Kill"... why did they rename it to just AVTAK?
That was fun. Most certainly count me in for future viewings.

This is the last time we get "JAMES BOND WILL RETURN IN..." In the pre-internet, 24 hour television news, days, you didn't know until that moment what the next film was going to be. It was exciting. I really miss that.

That was a really cool feature at the end of each film. I'm glad they still atleast say he will return, but having the title revealed at that moment would be so amazing.

I think it is easier on the tongue.

Maybe. FAVTAK adds more context to the title and stops that horrible duo line with May Day and Zorin. "What a view... to a kill".

Agreed. My first go at one of these and it was a fun experience. I'm up for more in the future when I'm available.

    Cheers for this!

Ah it’s a shame I missed that, sounded like fun, we could even make a texting group chat if that would be easier to communicate in if we did this on a reguler basis

A good one for him to have gone out on. AVTAK's ending was awful.

Hehe, well they didn't drop the ball at least. Whereas Stacey dropped the soap.

"That is not the soap..." Disgusting, lol.

I've lost count how many times I've seen AVTAK and I've yet to hear that line in the movie. /:) I'd never know it existed were it not for this forum.

I think it was down to DuranDuran and their theme song.

According to Sir Roger "From A View To A Kill" was too long for the marquees.

Didnt bother them with The Man With The Golden Gun!! I seem to remember reading somewhere Simon Le Bon saying they asked for it to be shortened as it suited their lyrics better!

It's at the end where the sound is a bit muffled. Watch it with subtitles and you can't miss it. It's like following a cue ball.

    Ah, that makes sense.

That's odd considering they've had longer titles before — On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Man With The Golden Gun, etc.

Their budget for AVTAK wasn't that low either.

Disgusting indeed. I'm so traumatized from that I don't even use soap anymore. :))

I'm not a certified psychologist, but I'd argue that your mind is simply repressing that line every time you hear it. Which I can't blame you for doing.
