Definitely has one of the best villain deaths.

The segment in Egypt is one of my favorite parts of this movie too. Just awesome.

Yes! GF is awesome top to bottom.

I may pop in GF soon, probably on my day off.

Right now I've got TOMORROW NEVER DIES playing.

Bond and Wai Lin are being escorted to meet Carver. I like how Pierce addresses his villains by their first name: "Always nice to see you, Elliot."

Pierce in a blue lenin shirt, baggy trousers and what looks like boat shoes makes sloppy Bond look damn cool.

Bond and Wai Lin use the banner. Great scene, IMO.

Brosnan's bike double looks about as much like Pierce as Remy Julienne looked like Roger . I think this bike chase was intended to out do the tank sequence from GE. Hate to say it, but I like this scene more.

Bond and Wai-Lin team up in her HQ. I like the bit where they board the boat :"Maybe he'll take a check?". Great Arnold music.
I think they should stop by James Bond Island like every one else does and re-create the Scaramanga/Roger duel.

Really enjoying this viewing. I think it's due to go up in my rankings.

    Excellent viewing of TND

Of all the Brosnan's I feel this one hold up the best. Even more so than GOLDENEYE. I am due for a viewing of that one soon enough, though. We'll see.

I do hope David Arnold returns to the series.

I seem to enjoy SF’s PTS more and more every time I watch it. All 4 of Craig’s PTSs would likely make my Top 10.

One of my favorite title songs, and probably my #1 title credits. Seeing all this in the theater for the first time was so awesome.

The Shanghai and Macau sequences are always a lot of fun.

Silva’s introduction is awesome. He is definitely my favorite of Craig’s villains.

Always thought SF’s finale gets way too much hate. Personally, I love all of it!

Another super successful watch of SF. One of my favorites.

I rank the SF PTS quite high. It's full of tension from start to finish and uses the centre of Istanbul very well - the location serves the action. There are a lot of smart Bondian moments in it too (and I don't mean the cuff adjustment, which I could have done without frankly). It serves as a great start for the film.

I've always liked it too. In truth, I think it's one of the best finales of the series. It smartly changes it up so that Bond is the target (or rather, M) as opposed to the villain. It's a sort of defensive counterpunch approach (guerrilla tactics are employed as a result) rather than the more traditional offensive assault.

    @bondjames

I agree. The finale is fully epic and unique, but still feels perfect in the Bond universe. Since it first came out, SF has never left my own Top 5, and I think it’s going to stay that way on my list. It just has so much great stuff going for it: Craig’s great performance, an amazing group of supporting cast/characters, brilliant cinematography, loads of memorable scenes, a unique soundtrack (which is pretty decent and overhated I think), and overall just a Bond movie that works perfectly as a standalone or within Craig’s continuity. Has always been and still is one of the best Bond films to me.

Well summarized @FoxRox, and I agree. I may have issues with the trajectory of the Craig era post-SP, but I can't fault SF as a perfectly executed standalone entry (despite the retcon attempt). It's a quality director fulfilling his grand vision to a tee.

One more thing that I always notice whenever I watch it is how it brilliantly borrows from prior scenes in Bond films and seamlessly pulls them into a cohesive narrative. Nearly every major scene is a reimagination of something that came before, perhaps in honour of the 50th, and yet it all seems quite fresh.

I agree with that too. The whole resurrection theme is done wonderfully I think. A lot of people lament how Craig Bond is past his prime as SF begins, which may be true in a literal sense, but by the time / the way the film ends, we see Bond just beginning his traditional, comfort zone surroundings of the classic films, which to me says in a way he has been reborn and really has just begun his spiritual prime.

I like Bond's annoyance when he runs out of bullets and throws the gun away.

Every time I pull a lever, I try to do it as intense as Tim. I even make that same exact facial expression.

I'm getting into it here. I really need that Werewolf Concerto episode with Timmy D as the werewolf. It's great.

I’ve got MR up tomorrow. I never really can seem to fully decide how much I like it; very interested to see how high or low it will rank this time around.

Listening to Live and Let Die audiobook (again), and decided to pop in LALD. While not my fave Bond, Moore does ok in his early ones. I really wish they comedy hadn't gone so broad and slapstick as he went on (starting with TSWLM).

Never really believable as a killer, he was most definitely charming.

A pity they didn't spend more time in New York and give us the scenes of him and Felix properly together barhopping in search of Mr Big.

Tim on the tram. I hold the little hand thing just like him, too.
Kara gets busted by George Costanza with hair.

    Tim on the can.

Pierce would have done his pain face here.

The New York section was always my favorite as a kid. LALD has always been one of my favorite Roger outings.

Bond and Kara arrive at the hotel. This reading of "shaken not stirred" is probably my favorite in the series.
All Bond has to do is call Universal Export for whatever he needs. 2 tickets for the opera. He could probably call Univex and get the winning Mega millions lottery ticket if he so desired.

Meanwhile, Koskov is lounging about with the poolside beauties while Kara is trying on that princess dress.

It does look lovely on her.

    Mickey G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like how Mickey G moves his head to the music in the opera.
    Everyone else is still.

If Saunders were to grow pointed sideburns, he'd have the William Shatner in STAR TREK IV THE VOYAGE HOME hairstyle.

THE THIRD MAN section. I've seen that classic Carol Reed/John Glen/Guy Hamilton noir in the cinema a few times actually. Always great to see Bernard Lee pre-Bond. Robert Brown and Geoffrey Keen are in it as well.
It's pretty cool and I recommend it.

Bond and Kara get caught while in passionate embrace.
Bond leaves her to look at postcards while he hangs out with Saunders.

I love Barry's instrumental of TLD theme here.

Bond's interrogation of Pushkin is one of my favorite scenes in the series.

I absolutely love this entire section. Bond shoots Pushkin and makes his escape. Everyone is shooting at him and he knocks over some laundry.

Now we come to the greatest performance, not only in a Bond film, but in cinematic history................................................................JOHN TERRY as FELIX LEITER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like John Terry, actually but Felix is a mere cameo. With a cooler haircut, cooler clothes and more of a role he might have been decent. Imagine, though if this build up of Bond's capture by the 2 beauties, led to the great David Hedison!!! Damn that would have been cool. I can just picture Hedison saying "What are you trying to do, 007? Start WWIII?"

The Afghanistan section of DAYLIGHTS I also love and will defend it to my grave. The last time to date we get a big battle sequence finale. I also love the aerial stunt-work and Barry's score.

Koskov reveals himself to be the main villain here. Great scene in the plane with Timmy D.

Tim looks good in the casual windbreaker. I used to have a beige jacket similar to that. I'd wear it with my khaki's .

The jailbreak sequence. Keeping the John Glen tradition alive with a hand to hand fight scene in the third act.

    Bond gets thrashed before whistling.

Bond has spit in his mouth and he's not wearing a watch. That is a shame. I think the lack of a watch is the real crime here. The Roger Moore kick.

Great scene. Brings a smile to my face every time.

Bond, Kara and Kamran ride to his humble abode. I love this scene. Beautiful music and cinematography here.

I love the heartfelt hug Kamran receives when he gets home.

I think ON THE TRACKS OF 007 should pinpoint the exact locations the desert meet up sequence was shot. Maybe someone has already?

I love when Bond is nearly caught by Necros.............GO.

Tim looks great in this outfit. I'm trying to picture Pierce in a similar disguise. He'd have a slight stubble.

Although many consider OP an Indiana Jones inspired Bond, I think this one has similar feel. I can picture Harrison Ford rocking Tim's turban .

Kara starts kicking a$$. Although she doesn't seem to be the most popular Bond girl on this site, she remains one of my most favorites.

Bond and Necros duke it out.

This is one of the coolest stunt fights in the series for me. Completely exciting.

I was just a kid when this Bond came out, and I loved every frame. I got over the loss of Brosnan quite fast. TBH, I actually believed Finlay Light was going to be Bond. Yeah, I know.
Funny enough the first several pics of Dalton I saw seemed to be shot as he was either laughing, blinking or bearded. It wasn't until I saw the teaser trailer that I got a good look at him as Bond. I was sold immediately.

I did find the plot of this one more difficult to follow on my first viewing. I saw it again the next day with my folks and Dad explained it to me. I saw it seven times in the cinema that summer.

Well another great viewing of this Bond has come to an end.

    Hits the spot every time.

Ha! It's the Dalton style. Slightly theatrical but highly engrossing.

I miss Bond in disguise, or pretending to be someone else. It's been a while since we had that.

Same here. Too many moving parts to the evil plan. Money, weapons, opium. But I like it, now that I get it, after many viewings.

    SPECTRE

I do like Craig's stance in the GB as well as the shade of red for the blood.

Still should have had the iris open on the skull eye socket, though.

    Craig in costume. LTK elevator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Craig looks damn good in this one. Good haircut and very Bondian. I actually like the score in this section of the PTS.
