    Goodnight. Ugh.

Why do people have such an issue with Christmas Jones when Mary Goodnight exists?

    I totally agree !

She is a totally pointless character who is there only to get kidnapped and force Bond to go after Scaramanga to get the bloody solex back.

Bond and Scaramanga never intended to battle.

    “Tall slim and dark.”

    “So is my aunt.”

Such a strange line for Bond to say.

Bond grabbing the sumo wrestler’s arse before giving him a wedgie.

Sending Bond to “school” instead of killing him there and then is so silly. I understand this is a Bond trope but this example is certainly the laziest.

If Andrea sent Bond the bullet and wants him to kill Scaramanga and set here free then why didn’t she come clean to him when he first broke into her hotel room?

This bit with Goodnight in the wardrobe while Bond is with Andrea is surely one of the worst scenes in any Bond movie.
How do people dislike SF and SP? Do they forget all about this movie when saying so?

As do I but there seems to be a reappraisal at the moment on these boards. I don’t know why the Craig and Brosnan eras get such a bashing when Rog and Sean has TMWTGG, AVTAK, YOLT and DAF.

I really like LALD, but let’s face it, Sean and Rog had their stinkers.

Yes, the invisible car is ridiculous but Scaramanga’s airplane car is so embarrassing, so terrible! Jesus.

When I was a boy TMWTGG was my favourite Bond film.
    I think it’s around 4th bottom now.

LALD I like except for the stupid ending again.

Dang, those four are my favourite of theirs to rewatch. Always a good time with these ones, despite any shortcomings in their plot(s).

That's not necessarily lazy. I don't know if they wrote it that way on purpose or not, but it's a great touch. Should Scaramanga ever lose his own golden gun, he could grab the loaded gun from the wax figure. Fits the unpredictable and strange nature of the funhouse.

Fair point Matt, I didn’t think of that .

YOLT: “You’ve never been to Japan before, have you?” “No, never.”

...FRWL: “Once when I was with M in Tokyo we had an interesting experience...”

Ever since I noticed this it has bugged me haha

I see two ways to look at this. The first (and most likely) is that they forgot about that line.

The second, which fits canonically, is that the mission was sensitive and Bond won’t talk about it with anyone not cleared to know about it, ally or not.

Goldfinger a film I have major issues with, though JB's music on the Bluray menu is awesome. Despite my issues with the film I have always enjoyed the score. Pressing play...

Connery is pure class, Sir Sean has never been my issue with this film.

There are simply better directed Bond films that have far superior set design and story than GF, I know GF has a plethora of iconic moments, though that does not make a good film IMO.
