'L007K UP, L007K DOWN, L007K OUT... Santa Bond does it everywhere... And he strikes like a Snowball'

    I will get my coat.
  • For me, the holidays have always spelled high doses of ginger snap cookies and peppermint bark in fierce rotation, pots of mulled cider, renegade pine needles needing sweeping, and the perennial "XX Days of 007" playing on TV. I can't send you all digital peppermint bark so here's my version of a holiday lineup with a selection of Bondian entertainment to enjoy. Hopefully there's a little something here for everyone.

    From+Russia+with+Love+72ppi.jpg?format=500w

First, a fairly informative and well made little documentary on the making of and legacy of GoldenEye N64. Sure to bring back a few holiday memories for members of a certain generation!

Next, a feature-length documentary for fans of all ages: Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007, which as of this December has been made available for free on YouTube with ads. I'm sure many of us have seen this one already, but it's hard to come by in the US and well worth the watch.

From 2008 to March of 2020, Toby Stephens has been the voice of James Bond in BBC's radio drama adaptations. I haven't listened to all of them, but they are very well produced and have drawn considerable talent including Ian McKellen as the voice of Goldfinger and Rosamund Pike as Pussy Galore. For the holidays, here is 2014's On Her Majesty's Secret Service featuring Joanna Lumley as Irma Bunt and Alfred Molina as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

While I abandoned my original idea of making this a "Walken in a Winter Wonderland" tribute to one of Bond's great megalomaniacs of the 80s, this telling of "The Night Before Christmas" by two Christopher Walken and Jeff Goldblum impersonators is too good not to include. Close your eyes and you might just imagine it's really them.

Finally, looking ahead to No. 25, here's a rather good and lengthy No Time to Die interview from last March with Cari Joji Fukunaga and the principle cast: Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, and Jeffrey Wright. No significant spoilers, but promising discussion of character relationships and the film's emotional through-line. (Contains brief footage interspersed throughout if you're trying to avoid that entirely.)

And another excellent interview, also free of spoilers, this time just with Rami Malek.

Well Wishes and Happy Holidays everyone! Here's to a new year and the well teased-out excitement of anticipating a new Bond film!

I don't have time to watch the videos right now but it definitely looks like a great way to spend some time in the world of Bond. Thanks a lot @Some_Kind_Of_Hero for this post.

I ended up buying it from Prime Video Digital Copy a couple of years ago. I am not sure if it's available on disk here in the UK.

Please put me down for 0024th, @Fire_and_Ice_Returns.

Separately I've been watching for the Ian Fleming Publications Season's Greeting notice. This is the closest to it I've seen--an Instagram post from their site.

This seems as good a place as any to wish all my fellow MI6-ers a safe and happy Christmas as best we all can! I've not been around much lately but I've certainly not forgotten you all, and I'm certainly still part of the gang (if you'll still have me!) ... just think of me as currently MIA on a secret mission of extreme national importance - less James Bond, more Nigel Small-Fawcett!!

    Take care folks!!

A Bond year to remember. Presenting below some things old, hopefully some things new to the audience.

Then the closing with the spirit of Sir Roger Moore and Sir Thomas Sean Connery.

Santa Royale | Robot Chicken | Adult Swim (animated violence here)

Christmas Break | Robot Chicken | Adult Swim (takes the Christmas jokes too far)

***** A 007 CHRISTMAS***** (truly droll silliness on display, I love some of the ideas here)

Revisiting these seasonal Bond advertisements is always enjoyable.

Maybe the best Bond Christmas present of all remains On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Here's a notional poster I thought was clever.

    Marathons are also in season.

Happy 007 Days of Christmas from Vaquero Playground!
On the 4th Day of Christmas, Vaquero gives to Thee: A 12 Days of Xmas Parody!
An assist with the words, here.
    1 Moneypenny
    2 Thunderballs
    3 Areolas
    4 Quartermasters
    5 Goldfingers
    6 Bonds a-bounding
    7 Roger Moore films
    Octopussy's Palace
    9 Rounds of Walther
    10 Martinis mixing
    11 (Insert Moonraker joke here)
    12 Angels-of-death

Plus more straightforward Christmas music with a twist.

David Glass: A James Bond Christmas

And the original item that motivated me to contribute here.

First shared by @Fire_and_Ice_Returns in 2017, this is from a 2004 UNICEF promotion.

    Merry Christmas one and all!

I have no idea whether this is an appropriate place to post this, bit I just had a strange little Bond Christmas story happening.

My mother is a very voracious reader, so my parent's house is stuffed full of books. So this year she decided not to buy new books for Christmas for everyone, but instead re-gifted some of her old books. So f.e. my girlfriend got the whole series of Sjöwall/Wahlöö paperbacks from the 70s/80s.
One of my mother's favourite authors is Jeffery Deaver, whose books I would often read after she was through with them. So I got Carte Blanche which... ... was my own book she had given me for a birthday 8 years ago and I just hadn't taken with when moving out 😄.
It must have found its way into her pile of Deaver books and she thought the one 007 book she owns must be a slam dunk as a gift to me!
So I guess, I will take that as a hint to re-read it and as I am now much more of a Bond fan than I was back then, it will now get to come with me to my own bookcase...

    Happy Holidays!

PS: I just went through my old bookcase at my parent's house and it turns out, that I now own Carte Blanche twice! My mother didn't in fact give me the same book twice, she just didn't know it already stood in her attic, got it for herself and then gave it to me years later...

First of all i think we should remember all the stars we lost this year, so here's an memoriam for that, not everyone is included in it, sadly.

If anyone missed this. Everyone from bond community singing, "do you know how Christmas trees are grown", it's really lovely, enjoy it :)

A funny short film "James bond and attack the attack of Christmas".
