    Quite an accomplishment from a certified icon.

    I was especially moved by this post he wrote for the Huffington Post leading up to the election in the states, where he ruminated on his life and being an American and what part democracy plays in that ideal:

    100 eh? A man who has obviously taken care of himself over the years. Great actor and top bloke, a very happy birthday to him. My favourite? A tough one, but I think Spartacus would be difficult to beat.

    This was 62 years ago... Kirk was older then than I am now. Respect! I feel like I haven't accomplished nearly what he had then. Like Caesar standing next to Alexander's statue, I weep.
