I see what you mean. I haven't read the review, so I can't say. Maybe they are a JCVD fan, maybe they were paid to write a 4* review, I don't know.
Some of his later films have been far above average for DTV films. Six Bullets, Assassination Games and Pound Of Flesh to name just 3.
@MajorDSmythe Have you seen this one, Major? It's got Elke Sommer in it although I mainly got it for Romy Schneider.
Yes, but I don't remember Elke being in it much, is that right?
With all those actors and actresses in the cast I don't think Elke's part is very big. It's one of those films I remember seeing parts of it on TV as a child but not all the way through. I mainly remember George Hamilton's character being smitten with Romy's violinist character only to be coldly rejected and disillusioned by her later on. He later gets involved with Elke. Sounds like a good deal for Hamilton to have appeared in a film with both Romy and Elke in their prime as his leading ladies.
If i'm honest, it isn't one I watch if I wanted a quick fix of Elke. As for Hamilton... yeah, well some men get all the luck. ;)
DARBY O GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE (1959).
Found it at garage sale for 50 cents.
An amazing Disney fantasy set in a village in Ireland.
Featuring none other than our main man.............
SEAN CONNERY!!!!!!!!
This is THE film that Cubby looked at when considering Sean for Bond.
Great stuff!
I watched it years ago, it has charm of sorts Sir Sean is enthusiastic
All six movies. The only one I'm not all that fond of is 4, though 6 is a close second. 1 and 2 are still the best.
Two excellent stories from one of the very best seasons of Doctor Who
Also bought HD download of...
I often watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off when I skipped school
Good luck.
Enjoy!
Damn good choice. I recently bought the DVDs, myself.
I had the show recorded on a old digital TV recorder that broke down so had to buy it, it's a surprisingly good reboot it's criminal it got canceled.
I know. I feel like ThunderCat's cancellation is probably why I've latched as tightly to Voltron: Legendary Defender as I have. Both are excellent retellings of their source material.
Don't have either of those, but my son does have PoM. I've just bought the Season 12: The Collection (Tom Baker's first season) blu-ray box set, and 'tis awesome. Wonder which season will be next?…
Lucky you, would love to add this to my collection. Another winner from the guys and gals at Arrow Video.
I have never come across Voltron is it Manga style animation?
I am getting the Season 12 Bluray Boxset also, it's a birthday gift to self this month, from what I have read it's going to be excellent I posted some info in the Doctor Who thread about the set.
Just bought these both HD downloads...
It's a Netflix series, though the first two seasons are available on a cheaply priced, bare bones DVD release. It has a similar art style to Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, primarily because it shares 90% of its production team with them. It's super serialized, each episode bleeds into the next and almost forces you to keep going until you've hit the end of the latest season.
They're six seasons in, right now, with a seventh on the way hopefully soon, as the seventh season premiere will debut at Comic-Con.
