I am postponing it as well, maybe next weekend.

I think my interest in comic book/graphic novel adapted movies has wained, there are too many of them and mediocre for the most part. Though I hear Josh Brolin is brilliant as Thanos so that's the main reason I'll watch Infinity War.
Just my personal opinion after seeing the film: Josh Brolin absolutely nails it, but the animation destroys it.

I take it the CGI for Thanos is inconsistent?
Pretty much so, and what weighs as much is that he´s a CG character surrounded by real people, which for some reason plays out even worse than it did with The Hulk. If I try to remember, Hulk had more scenes where he was really well animated, for instance when he pursues BW in The Avengers. Many background landscapes are also not very well executed, something that already bothered me a lot in BP.

It must be an additional challenge, when directing a whole host of stars, ensuring that they can give a good performance and dont either try to out do each other or feel they can "phone it in". No hint of this for me.

I too saw some small issues with CGI but, as with all films, it comes back to the original things that make films great. "Is the audience emotionally involved with the characters and the story"

I think we can safely say it's a yes.

Kevin "The King" Feige is a one of a kind producer who knows how to cultivate results and success and his trick is so obvious and basic but for some reason other "producers" seem incapable of applying the same/respective approach.
Feige sure knows how to steer a big ship, but that doesn´t change that Marvel films contain an immense amount of hot air.

You people should really try and get your hands on a copy of Infinity Gauntlet. This is definitely a Thanos movie. What the Russos have done with this film and the madness that will be Avengers 4 is nothing short of remarkable.
Firstly, why should I be interested in a comic book when I like films? If the film cannot be fully appreciated on its own, it doesn´t do its job.
Secondly, why do you prophetize about the future, when the last prophets walked the earth centuries ago?

No way. I just watched Ready Player One again, and while the CG characters in that film look much more CG-ed than any Marvel character, I was ten times more involved with the characters and the story than I was with IW.

The biggest achievement this film has done for me is that
    I can't wait to see part 2
, I have read some reviews that had issues with structure of the film, I had no issues at all IW for me
is the finale or the first part of a finale for a comicbook run and worked perfectly.
The Gomora death scene was great, and made sense for the Red Skull to be somewhere out in space.
Dr Strange and Thor got some of the biggest pops from me and I thought Starlord was good also. I let it slide as the fun factor was at maximum, though Iron Man's suit is now ridiculous.

I will definitely watch IW again this week.

    Holy crap.
Jackson looks like Laurence Fishburne there. I had to do a double take.

I have a feeling Brie's going to kill it as Captain Marvel.

    Regarding IW
I waited till the end credits, not totally convinced Captain Marvel will have a huge role in IW part 2, the post credit sequence may just be mainly to set up her stand alone film. Personally I want those involved in IW to resolve the conflict with Thanos rather than Captain Marvel swoop in and save the day.

Feige certainly knows what he is doing.

I thought this characters voice was a bit off...
...Hugo Weaving did not reprise the role of Red Skull an actor from Walking Dead played the part in IW

Yes, but he's well-known for his celebrity impressions. Honestly, the fact that Red Skull returned at all was probably one of the most glorious pueces of fanservice in the movie.

I went into Infinity War knowing four spoilers, two big and two minor. The minor spoilers were "a returning character was recast" and "there's a symbol at the end". I had speculated about the Red Skull, but never felt concrete, and the symbol I just put aside until I saw the movie.

The deaths spoiled for me lost none of their impact despite being spoiled. Loki and Gamora's deaths still had weight to me, still hit home, though I assume Gamora still in some way lives inside the Soul Stone. Loki's death I'd already sort of figured out beforehand, based on how little he was shown in the trailers. Still, I've always preferred Loki and Thor as brothers rather than enemies, and the fact that Loki died trying to save his brother's life was heartwarming.

Thanos was a monster. He was the best villain the MCU has had, and dammit if I wasn't actually afraid he may win this Infinity War - and then he did. Avengers 4 has one helluva job ahead of it next year, and that's exciting me. And complain all you want about the CGI used to make him, I thought it was exceptional. I saw genuine emotion come from his face in such a way I've not seen since Gollum in The Two Towers.

I expected to go into this movie and love it, as I have all other MCU movies. What I didn't expect was that it would dethrone The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2 as my favorite comic book movie. Those two have shared that spot for 10 years now and now they don't. It's a strange feeling that I'm not sure how to process.

I only hope that Avengers 4 lives up to the promise that Infinity War has left us.

Same can be said for the James Bond films and yet here we are.

Firstly, why should I be interested in a comic book when I like films?

I don't care what you like. What you choose tovdo is your own business. I only mentioned Infinity Gauntlet as a point of reference to convey and contrast how close Thanos is to how he's characterised in the source material.
If the film cannot be fully appreciated on its own, it doesn´t do its job.

The film has done it's job and exceptionally well but it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.
Secondly, why do you prophetize about the future, when the last prophets walked the earth centuries ago?

Don't know what you're on about but i'm glad I'm able to talk about a series of films and franchisesthat has a clear and defined future.

This really looks great. I liked the first one but I think I'm going to prefer this. Lots of humour which I always appreciate and I've recently learned that Michelle Pfeiffer is in it, which is an added bonus.

It was not a criticism just an observation, that moment was great it's one of my favourite scenes. I did well this time round regarding a new release I managed to avoid spoilers, though there were some things you could see coming.

And Florence Kasumba who plays Ayo, one of Black Panther's Dora Milaje in Civil War, Black Panther and Infinity War. She also plays one of the Amazons in Wonder Woman.

On another note, the worldwide total for Infinity War now stands at $725.5 million after just six days of release.

I just got back from a 2nd showing of IW. This went much better. I was able to absorb everything that was going on more readily this time around and I appreciated all the subtle humour.

I commend the Russo's on what they were able to achieve in 2.5 hours of screen time. They really got through quite a lot and it's a testament to their directing skills that they were able to keep it engaging, epic & consequential.

My ranking remains the same, not because IW isn't good, but because the films higher on the list are better imho:

    1. Winter Soldier
    2. Iron Man
    3. Avengers
    4. Thor Ragnarok
    5. Civil War
    6. Iron Man 3
    7. Infinity War

They are both from ultra-geeky source material, with Marvel-style humour and box-office takings to shout about … so how come aficionados have given Last Jedi such short shrift?

Simple IW did not stick a finger up to what proceeded it. In addition to that IW did not have terrible dialog and terrible acting.
