Could be. Though, doubtful.
Meanwhile, Captain Marvel is on-course for a $150+ million domestic opening weekend.
And they're still at it :

Morons !
Does Brie Larson actually smile at all?
My son saw it yesterday and thought it was the weakest Marvel movie yet.
Brie Larson is great. The humor is fun and the cat is awesome.
I think one of the bigger flaws with this film was the nontraditional origin story structure. There were no traditional scenes early in the film that helped us establish our protagonist's morals and values. We never got that initial baseline to build from. Instead, we’re left to piece together her personality bit by bit as the film sputtered along. Even now, I don’t think I have a strong grasp on the character. She was poorly developed, to put it simply.
As for Brie Larson's performance, it wasn't particularly good, but not as bad as I had feared. Those flat, disinterested facial expressions and line deliveries that we saw in the trailer were still present, but there were enough moments where she was more charismatic. In Larson's defense, I'm more inclined to put the blame on the writing and directing. I think there may be some potential moving forward. Perhaps the Russo bros will have better luck with the character.
One thing Marvel Studios has proven they do well is make solid, entertaining films. Captain Marvel is the exception. This is the first MCU film that I give a resounding thumbs down.
So you personally did not like it, I guess you are a male, I do wager that this movie does very well with the female population. My daughters love anything Marvel and they found this a brilliant movie and they desperately want a Black Widow movie.
Alien and Aliens two of my favourite movies of all time with a female protagonist, what has gender got to do with whether someone liked a movie or not?
your defense is somewhat moot, you like films with women in them so hence you are right. This movie is largely female orientated and the men play the second fiddle or the oppressor, some might be upset about that or just difficult to relate.
The latest of the Marvel movies is indeed female driven and we got Samuel Jackson reprising his Die hard character, he is there for the funny parts so that Larson can be very straightfaced, which I found highly amusing.
Captain Marvel was actually a refreshing movie those Avenger movies which we get one more in less than a month are throwing everything at you including the kitchen-sink, they are bloated with too many characters. I found them truly tiresome to watch.
You complain that CM did not use the expected build up you like and so you have a difficulty relating to the movie. I found a different build up kinda refreshing.
I do prefer the stand alone movies of the Marvel universe over the big ones because they are much more personal. With CM who turns out to have amazing powers I found the personal side of her story really well done. And they did use the gender inequality well picked up. CM is indeed a post #MeToo movie and as a father of daughters I can only applaud that. Plus the movie is fun and entertaining.
How is Wonder Woman anything but a largely female driven film where men are second fiddle or oppressors?
Seriously I am genuinely wondering?
Go and see the movie I would suggest.
no no interest...
I did enjoy Wonder Woman though
Based on my review alone, I don’t see why you felt it was necessary to bring my sex into the picture. Does me being a male, or the movie having a female lead, make my critiques any less valid? As a male, am I incapable of judging this film fairly?
So you say, that is your prerogative.
You must have been impressed by the Stan Lee homage the movie opened with.
I do hope we get the same with Bond 25 with Roger.
