What a fantastic experience that must have been. I'm not a huge superhero, dc or marvel fan, but I must admit that seems like an epic experience.
Reminder of the one for Homecoming:
Wow that is lazy
Though they were even worse
You're entitled to your opinion mate, but to call Aliens a 'piece of crap' is insulting to say the least.
Wrong thread i know, but have some respect for one of the greatest action directors of all time. ;)
His prime was the early 90s.
I know, wrong thread. But I would really like to know why is James Cameron one of the greatest directors of all time. Really. I want to know why is James Cameron in the same league of Federico Fellini, David Lean, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Jean-Luc Godard, John Huston, Fritz Lang, Martin Scorsese,... Really. I know this is an opinion shared by many. So maybe you can convince me. I'm open to that, if you have the time to elucidate me. Really, not being sarcastic here. I understand why Spielberg is in that list. The guy almost invented the blockbuster scene. BTW, hasn't done anything good since who knows when... But James Cameron? They guy who did Titanic, Avatar and Terminator and...the abyss maybe. Anything else?...uh...True Lies? That qualifies the guy as one of cinema's greatest? Really? Why?
Oh, and Alien, by Ridley Scott, is a masterpiece. Aliens is a piece of...oh well, you don't want me to say it so I won't. But he took a brilliant sci fi horror film and turned it into a cheap action flick that probably makes Michael Bay soil his pants with envy. And yes, before you say it, this is my personal opinion. Feel free to try to change it old pal ;) Like I said, I'm open to it.
I feel compelled now to turn this around to Marvel again. Let's see then... Aliens is to Alien what Iron Man 2 is to Iron Man, even though the xenomorph is prettier than Mickey Rourke ;)

Really looking forward to this.
How does this crap get approved? It looks like a porn parody DVD cover.
Oh my God. Sacrilege. Aliens......."cheap"? Mentioning Michael Bay in the same sentence?
I can't understand this. The world has gone crazy. ;)
Will be interesting to see how they'll use the location. There was even some speculation that Sæbø would feature as Russia.
It wouldn t be the the first time Norway is used as Russia. Could be. She could also be spying in Norway, or hiding.
Well if you read my post properly @Univex you'd know i didn't call James Cameron one of the greatest directors of all time, i said he was one of the greatest ACTION directors of all time. Slight difference.
Read it properly next time as it'll save you looking like an idiot.
To @LeonardPine,
Well, I certainly didn't call you an idiot, having even called you an old pal. I appreciate your answer but I wasn't being antagonistic. If you do like saying people look like idiots on account of having misread some piece of text, you really should revise your choice of being in forums.
Sure, I'll retract most of what I've said, but I'll only change my list to suit the action marker. Still don't think he's one of the greatest action directors of all time. Not in the slightest. Why? Because there is no such thing as an action director. Nor there is a comedy or drama director. There are directors who are known for a given genre of film. But that is beside the point.
If you want to talk about directors who work mainly within the action genre, you won't even get to talk about good directors. Really. Who's on your list? Bay, Scott (Tony), Fuqua, Rodriguez, Miller, Carpenter, Frankenheimer,... even John Ford wasn't action exclusive.
And don't go googling the therm action director, I'm sure it will pop up, even in cinema sites and publications. Talk to any director, any actor, any student of cinema who knows his stuff. I know I did, I had many discussions on cinema genre and literature genre, down at the British academy of film and many other places at some point in my life. One of the guys who publicly said there were only good directors and bad directors and no genre directors was Lynch, but then Bertolucci did agree and many others.
But I won't extend on my case here. And I won't discuss it with you, as I'd be afraid to look like an idiot.
Besides, having had a quick meta analysis on all of this, I've reached the conclusion that I'm discussing James bloody Cameron in a Marvel bloody Universe thread in a James Bond forum. SO, yeah, I am an idiot. See? You were right.
Goodbye, old pal.
I didn't call you an idiot, i said your post made you look like one. Completely different.
Still not getting the 'reading posts properly' are you?
Anyway, wrong thread for this so i'll butt out before i get scolded by the Mods.
No, I thought you'd say that. Predictable much?
Saying you looked like an idiot IS the same as saying you were an idiot. Or, at the very least, it's intended to be the same. But I don't even care. It was disrespectful. I asked to be convinced, I asked if you could elaborate, I even made a joke about Mickey Rourke, I was being forum friendly. You were not. If you said I'd read you the wrong way, I'd apologise and probably say I looked like an idiot. You lost a chance to be courteous and came out like, well, an idiot. Now, you sounded like an a-hole. Not that I'm calling you one. (See what I did there? ;) )
I'll leave the thread and this discussion now. But I'll be sure not to engage with you. I think you'll appreciate that.
Like I said, goodbye.
Mods, feel free to delete all previous posts regarding the matter. A cleansing is due, I'm afraid I'm to blame. Sorry for the language and over exposition. My apologies. Won't happen again. Learning curve and all.
PS: @LeonardPine, I just PM you. Let's go there, bury the hatchet and smoke a pipe ;)
A new VG article claims that Sæbø will likely feature as Norway. Hope they're right.

Maybe! Have only seen the first Avengers film, so I have little knowledge of the Black Widow character. Will probably have to watch this film only for the locations.

Lovely to see Keanu's career in renaissance at the moment - he seems like a genuinely lovely chap.
If he's to be a villain I'd be glad. However, given his commitment and physicality in roles like John Wick, I really hope they make him a physical, non-CGI'd villain and not a 'sitting on a throne looking menacing and fighting in front of a greenscreen' villain.
