Me too :D
Nifty, isn't it ?
Also, given I haven’t really given my thoughts on Loki I have to say, even though I’m enjoying the show, I don’t like this interpretation of Loki. He seems to be playing too much of the hero rather than the god of mischief, and I really hope they pull it together in the last episode. I get that some it plays in on an arc, but he literally wanted to rule the earth a week ago in the world of the show.
I chalk that up to the crew knowing people loved the Thor/Loki dynamic in Ragnarok, but killed off that Loki in Infinity War, so they fast tracked Avengers Loki through all that development with the time viewer that Mobius used in the first episode to bring him back to the Ragnarok character.
That said, there are still differences. He's still pretty adamant about controlling the TVA for the first couple episodes.
Not certain though is this Deadpool's first appearance under Disney?
Out of the Marvel shows so far I would say Loki is the only one that's essential viewing with regards to the phase 4 movies, unless one of the films does some kind of recap.
Of all the Bond movies for her to watch, how did they not pick From Russia with Love?? That’s like the most obvious one!
New Suit???

Theaters blame Disney. People may be MCU’ed out. Black Widow is dead, and a majority of people know it. The characters (namely BW) are boring and predictable in their pun-dialogue. Lastly maybe people are mad at Scarlett Johansson for supporting Woody Allen. I don’t know, these are just some suggestions on what happened. There’s still a chance that BW could have legs.
Are you saying it's woke because it's got a woman in it? How do you even exist in the world when 50% of the population are women? You must be constantly angry, it's so strange.
Fast Furious 9 had a massive drop the second weekend too (67% drop in fact, and that's without any competition, unlike Black Widow): these are not normal times and you can't really compare it to films released pre-pandemic just yet. It's also been released on streaming at the same time: something tells me that might just affect box office too :D
It also hasn't even been released in China yet (although I reckon it'll be so pirated by now it probably won't make huge numbers there).
But I guess idiots on YouTube will keep chanting 'woke' without turning their brains on, because they never do. I suppose FF9 had a steep second week drop because there's a black guy in it? Yawn.
I’d say gender swapping one of the best villains from Marvel comics is about as woke as you can get.
Anyone extremely itching to see Black Widow on-screen, or just itching to get back into cinemas, would've gone as soon as possible. I did as soon as, baring in mind I only went for Florence Pugh, and was quite entertained bar some pacing issues that I think affected the narrative.
That would seem more logical. I really doubt that hundreds of thousands of people who watch Marvel films have any idea who the villain is in this one, or know the character from any comics; and the idea that they're boycotting the film because of that is preposterous. I certainly have no idea who the baddie is.
But as we've seen repeatedly, accusations of 'woke' don't have to make any sense.
Gender swapping the villain wasn't my problem, because they could've done that without changing the fundamentals of the character. It's everything else they changed that bothered me.
But, go ahead, keep using your nonsense word.
That’s reaching.
She's kind of taking the Waller-Bridge route :)
A bit of me wanders if they couldn't have gone the Bond route and just had a new Tony at some point, but I'm sure there must be lots of other characters in the comic books who became Iron Man?
I also disagree with accusations of wokeness this time. Disney certainly seems to be keeping a sociopolitical agenda, as seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, for example, but not in such a way that it kills the fun for me. Also, plenty of Marvel characters, like the X-Men back in the day, started out representing counter-culture, and they as well as their adventures have continued to mirror what was going on in the real world. Also, I think stories about heroes and villains shouldn't blind themselves from current tensions and sociopolitical trends. I don't need them to preach to me every second of every movie, but there's a difference between reflecting on the newspaper headlines of the moment, and following "woke doctrine". Yeah, when it comes to BW, I'm siding with those who call out the BS in these baseless accusations of wokeness.
