Contains spoilers for Loki Season 1 and 2 and potential plot spoilers.
I assume it's gonna be characters from the less acclaimed films, such as the 1986 Howard the Duck, the 2015 Fantastic Four, the 1979 Captain America, etc.
It looks like the Fox universe characters are in the void, I want to see Chris Evans show up as the human torch 😂
:)) :))
Just realized this is a new show, I have the original show3 season boxset's it is a one of the best ever animated series. From the off this continuation is not likely to have the same charm as the OG, I will give it a go.
I don’t often laugh out loud when watching movies but I was howling like Max Cady during this.
My favorite part was when Cassandra uses her clairvoyance powers to crash an ambulance through a billboard to hit a villain mid-air, who’s hovering over a car that has the future Spider-Women, Ben Parker and an in labor Mary Parker just below them. One wrong move and they would have all died, and my roommate and I lost it. We were literally the only people laughing while everyone else was watching this in dead silence, probably bored out of their minds.
I hyped for this movie. I hope it gives a boost to the MCU.
I think Deadpool 3 will be great though probably a one off regarding the MCU unfortunately.
I hope not. I'm still waiting for Shang-Chi 2, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Good.
I'm in.
I was ok they are clearly holding back stuff and happy that they are,
As expected the villain is
This would be good for the MCU. Let’s see if they keep their word, truthfully. They got 4 movies a year for the next 2 years. How many bad one-liners can they keep giving out? I know a lot of people who have tuned out. This could be history-making, folks.
Less is indeed more, unfortunately they have already diluted there product so much even if DP3 is a huge success I am not sure audiences will return long term.
The films that follow DP3 don't instill much confidence at this point and most of there TV shows have been poor, Loki is the only show that I felt was decent to good.
Peak MCU owed much of that to Whedon, Gunn and the Russo's.
(I didn't watch Loki, maybe that was okay. But I'm tired of it all now)
I’m going to give Jon Favreau some credit too, not just launching the series itself. His Star Wars works are a bit better in my opinion. Unfortunately, I think Whedon helped and hurt the MCU at the same time. A lot of his dialogue hasn’t aged well. Particularly considering his real life status as a person now. However, the MCU keeps on insisting on copying his writing.
I still rate Avengers Assemble as one of the best films in the series, indeed they did copy Whedon's humor and eventually ran very thin.
Age of Ultron for the most part is good, Whedon was forced to shoehorn in future plot points which did not help.
MCU's biggest issue is they don't focus on the now enough and their priority is just set up for what ever is coming next which gets tiresome, if a viewer does not watch all the content it is easy for casual fans to lose track.
DP3 will no doubt be great, but lets be honest they will just be playing the nostalgia card to the max again, they won't be able to play that card for much longer.
I think it's interesting that Bond fans often say that Eon should have planned ahead more and not used various elements so quickly with the Craig films, but I agree with what you're saying: setting up stuff in the future is less important to me than doing something great right here and now. The way they set up Avengers Assemble was excellent and really built up to something, but otherwise I don't think there's much point in deferred pleasure with these things: if you have a great idea, use it now.
The whole Kang plan is falling apart anyway.
I also agree that the worldbuilding has got too complex now: now there's a whole race (or two?) of aliens living on Earth which I don't really even remember and I have trouble telling the different between...the Krill and the Dill? it's all too confusing.
I am very much for Bond stand alone films... with regards to the DC experiment it was clear they were just making it up as they went along for the most part, the end of SP when they literally try to tie all the dots together with red string or wool that fell very flat for me.
I still contest that the author of Bond's pain was Mr. White and not his contrived step brother lol
Yeah they muffed that up, but I don't think there's anything wrong with doing linked films or books and making it up as you go. That's what Fleming did after all.
True it works if executed well and it feels organic and believable, the DC experiment was a patchwork quilt and you could see how crudely it was joined together, that is how I saw it.
Saying that I thought CR and QoS worked very well together, I am not the biggest fan of SF though I think it was a mistake trying to shoehorn it into an overall narrative, SF for me would have worked better as more of a stand alone film, which of course we can choose to view it that way when watching.
I vaguely remember that EON said that SP was a bit of a reaction to the MCU. With tying things all together. EON should consider it a miracle that they got the Blofeld and Spectre rights back, at that time. As for Marvel, things REALLY just need to slow down, is all I’m asking. But even that won’t happen for awhile. Oh, and stop with the one liners. A lot of people cringe at most of them.
