I see Marvel stuff, I share it for you guys. Sorry. That's on Marvel for putting out idiotically-titled TV spots.

So this Captain Marvel is set in the 90s. How about Shazam?
Coulson lives! In the past!
These posters are fantastic!!!
It's a cultural phenomenon because it attracted a lot of interest, at least in the United States, from people of color.
You forgot to mention Lee Pace is returning as Ronan the Accuser.
Probably because while it's mentioned in the article, it's not mentioned in the headline.
Not just from people of colour but from practically every demographic in the US and all over the world. You have people all over the US, Africa, Asia, the UK even in places like Russia doing the black panther dance challenge andvtge M'Baku challenge. The film is the highest grossing superhero film of all time in the Netherlands and has been the number one movie for 6 weeks. You have white families crying tears of joy for the film showing bald headed powerful female characters being an inspiration to their children who suffer from alopecia. The film's cultural significance and impact is undeniable but for a select minority it's hard to notice when their social circle likely consists of 1.
This. Didn't read it but noticed it elsewhere after I had posted it, figured you guys would notice eventually.
For anyone Stateside who lives near an Alamo Drafthouse, they're offering limited edition Mondo glasses for Avengers: Infinity War:
Is that around what the others did or more/less?
Avengers (2012) made a $207 million opening and Age of Ultron (2015) made a $191 million opening.
The only other films with a $200+ million opening are: Black Panther, Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The focus isn't on the $200M but the $200M+
Ebombey! Ebombey! Ebombey! Let's go!
#LongLiveTheKing #WakandaForever #Ebombey
That chanting gave me goosebumps. It was smart for Marvel to put Infinity War immediately after Black Panther - I want to see Wakanda again. I love Chadwick Boseman's swagger in the above trailer - regal, purposeful, decisive, calm. He walks like a king.
BP is a phenomenon, sure, that isn't in doubt, but I'm kind of detached from it. Maybe, not being on the social media thing, it's bypassed me completely? Apart from my friends and me, people are not talking about BP success, which is in contrast to such films as SF, Dark Knight, Avatar etc.
People will surely talk about it 70 years from now, and it will be an obligatory part of film school curriculum.
