    Top:

    CR
    SF
TND (yes really, I love it)
    TSWLM
    FRWL

But I should add I have a lot of love for Lazenby and Dalton's films too.

    Bottom:

    DAF
    DAD
    TMWTGG
    TB
    TWINE

Future Bond titles better not begin with a T or a D in your case ;)

There's a lot more than you'd think. I shall silence you all.

Calvin Dyson has ranked as his lowest, or close to, on his podcast. It's a Top ten for me. I find it to have the strongest dialogue in the series.

The scenes with Bond and Fiona alone make it a classic, with their bed scene and dance floor face-off franchise highs for me. And that's excluding the villain's plan we get to see unfold, Sean's performance, the use of locations and the amazing underwater photography and score. And yes, great dialogue.

I can understand that some find it boring and dull, but surely folks should be able to get some enjoyment from all the great things that Brady mentioned above? TB truly offers something special, if one keeps an open mind to it.

TB only just makes it into my top ten at #9, but even then, i'm not a huge fan of it. The editing of the Disco Volante fight is very amateurish for Bond, and the Q scene is beyond awful, the usual banter is replaced by animosity from Bond.

If you're not a huge fan of your #9, what does that say for the films from 10 to 24?!

10-23, I like in part rather than whole. 24, I just don't like at all.

That's true for my 24 as well. I wonder how many others feel that way, since the lowest ranked film must be there for a specific reason.

You'd be surprised how much crap my beloved GOLDFINGER takes around here.

    Really, who doesn't like it?

I don't want to start a list, but there are some diehard anti-GOLDFINGER people around here.

They don't like Die Hard or Goldfinger

    :-O

    Who are these idiots?

    Love 'em both.

If I were to introduce someone to Bond for the very first time, I'd absolutely have to show DN-GF, OHMSS, and CR.

I agree, but I'd throw in Thunderball.

TWINE isn t exactly the same standard as GF.
    No they're the same

Woah. Slow down. GF is in the running for the definitive classic spy film.
TWINE is a mediocre Bond film with some interesting bits here and there.

GOLDFINGER is the quintessential Bond film. Why it receives the flack that it does on here is beyond me.

Pretty much, though not in my top five. FRWL edges it out.
Much better story and tone, but yeah, GF is magnificent.

@Telly Yes, DH is the best action film made in the last thirty years. It has everything from villain, to hero, to ticking time bomb, to purpose and intent (McClane's trying to save his marriage)... It's nothing short of flipping awesome.

Love that movie, one of the best action films ever made. Period. Totally shamed the Dalton Bond films, which I like, but just pale in comparison.

DH is legendary. A true classic that set the standard for years to come.

I'm not a big GF fan, but it's disappointing to read that some hold it in the same regard as TWINE. Even I would never level such an insult.

@Timmer, @Birdelson: all for a good laugh, I think @barry has repeated, and I agree, what makes this forum great is the differing opinions (when we're all respectful of differing opinions; the mature members on this forum know what I mean).

@Telly, yes, I may go with you on this: one of the best action films ever made. I was being conservative in my gush of love, to not cause a stir!. But, I think you're right...

I think frwl should have won the oscar for best picture in 1963 or whatever because in all honesty that films objectively is an incredible peice of cinema even though for me it flip flops with casino Royale subjectively.

In my opinion 1963 is the strongest year in the history of cinema:

From Russia with Love, Le mépris, Otto e mezzo, Tystnaden, The Birds, Il gattopardo, etc.

Wish I was there to go to the movies.

I'd have to give the honor to FRWL (or even DN as a close second). It feels like a spy film, whereas GF was the point where Bond became its own genre.

Agreed...it has all the ingredients of a fantastic spy film, and keeps the viewer on edge, you just know that sooner or later Bond is going to face Grant, and it builds the tension up all the way through...an absolute top top top noth spy/Bond film.
