Thank you. And yes, the more realistic Lara is perhaps the reason why I prefer Alicia. Okay, the fact that I think she's stunningly beautiful and not in that catwalk model sort of way may have something to do with it too. ;-)
I understand that Lara Croft is a video game character. OTT is probably the norm. But film adaptations can choose to deviate from that and tell the story behind the superpeople. I applaud 2018 Tomb Raider for doing that, although I have been told that the film essentially adapts one of the later video games in which the human side of Lara was explored anyway.

Well, does the series mean the film is not going to happen? Or could it kickstart it?
That sounds quite fun.
Doesn't seem like many people mind.

As Amazon has control of TR its likely the new games and TV show will marry up, I heard there maybe a few changes to the Lara character which I will take with a pinch of salt until there are announcements.
Rebecca Ferguson was a real missed opportunity. Literally perfect casting
I agree with everything.
I didn't love the Vikander one I'm afraid: it was a bit grey and joyless. Hopefully this new one will have a bit more of a spark about it. She was decent enough but I wouldn't say irreplaceable. Go big and fun and silly with it: Indiana Jones but with James Bond's gadgets and funding. Maybe not quite as fake and pose-y as Jolie's one, but I'd still veer towards that one a little more.
Must admit, a cartoon is a bit disappointing.
The Amazon project is live action i believe.
The Netflix Anime I will wait for a full trailer, the teaser does not give us much.
She certainly has the right… attributes for it ;)
And yet Alicia should never have been ousted from this film series. Her Lara was a breath of fresh air.
Also, Michael Fassbender is a lucky man. ;-)
You mean her boobs?
Sorry, I think I made the thread go tits up.
I thought she was fine but the film was a bit dead. Not much of a sense of fun there.
I don’t know if she was impressive enough to have to be in a future instalment though.
I thought Vikander did a wonderful job, but indeed, the film itself lacked a bit of ... lust for life. Something that the Lara Croft story really needs.
And I agree, Fassbender is a lucky man. At the same time I'd definately want to see Hayley Atwell in the role.
Not as long as you beleive in a healthy chest..
The trailer looks a bit gritty and serious which I'm not sure I'm desperate for. I know it's her thing now but the bow and arrow version of Lara isn't as much fun as the double-pistol one to me (although the silly cyan crop top and OTT breasts are best left in the 90s). I hope the PWB version is still happening.
Though not quite as pointy.
And Keeley Hawes has absolutely the best voice for Lara.
that's just a matter of enough push-up(s)
Love Vikander in everything :)
Man, you're puns are unbeatable. Always! To the point. The pointy end(s).
Chin up, chest out and you're good to go :)
I won't elongate the matter any further, you see, it would be hard to compete with Fassbender in that department, or so I'm told.
Well, the man stands up for what he believes in.
