    Who created God?

Habakkuk Chapter 3 states, “God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran.”

Teman being Yemen? But who created him?

When Habakkuk states, “God came from Teman,” he speaks of God as appearing out of the East; that is, He is shining over His people like the rising sun. God breaks the darkness and initiates a new day. Teman was a city or region in southern Edom, to the east of Israel (Genesis 36:11, 15, 34, 42; 1 Chronicles 1:36, 45, 53; Jeremiah 49:7; Ezekiel 25:13; Amos 1:12; Obadiah 1:9). Teman was also the home of one of Job’s friends (Job 22:1; 42:7, 9). Likewise, Mount Paran, a mountain opposite of Teman (Deuteronomy 33:2-4), was also east of Israel (Genesis 21:21).

It's a passage from the Bible that has some relevancy to the matter at hand I feel. Merely sharing it here. Make of it what you will. I merely interject from time to time in this thread now.

Yeah, I could equally just quote a passage from Lord of The Rings. How was he brought into existence? What was before him? If he appeared out of the ‘East’, he presumably created the ‘East’. What was he doing before that?

I believe the passage means from where the sun rises, but puts in a more literary fashion than that.

If he exists he's responsible for all the evil in this world, least of all the barbaric actions of the people worshipping him. Put on trial? You bet. And good luck finding his defence lawyer.

So by that rationale if you found out you were Hitler's son you would worship him too and consider it an outrage if people demanded he face justice for his monstrous crimes?

Couldn't have said it better, @TheWizardOfIce.

I rather "worship" my kind, old neighbour who wouldn't hurt a fly than an almighty who, even if I did owe him my existence, I would have to live in mortal fear of. Clearly, despite all his might, he enjoys putting suicide bombers and machete wielder in the midsts of my loved ones, students and myself. At the very least, he allows it. "Our devotion must be tested?" Tell that to the 2-year old that is shot down while in his mother's arms.

Furthermore, "worship"? Am I supposed to worship my parents too? They gave me life after all. If by "worship" you mean that I have to unconditionally accept everything that person does and whore myself out as his slave, forget it. Since this Earthly life is the only life I'll ever have, I will spend it with at least an ounce of self-esteem and self-dignity.

Lastly, thank you, @Risico007, for bringing up the devil a few pages ago. I had a couple of good laughs. The Fallen Angel? Really? I'm sure you never have your photo taken either. Cameras take your soul away, didn't you know?

Did you really just post a link to a creationism website - cripes!

I quote from the ‘About Us’ section:

Our Motto: Proclaiming the truth and authority of the Bible
Our Vision: To see the Lord Jesus Christ honoured as Creator and Saviour of the world
Our Mission: To support the effective proclamation of the Gospel by providing credible answers that affirm the reliability of the Bible, in particular its Genesis history.

And I thought @Risico007’s YouTube videos were desperate. They look like a debate between Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry compared to this.
