I think last time I was happy about summertime was when I was at school age. Okay so maybe I still liked it when I was at uni but even then... If you think about it, summer is not so great: there's the heat and the long hours that disturb sleep time of course, but it's also the worst time to look for a job, it's the worst time to work if you do have a job and everyone seems to be so smug about being happy... Also it might be my own experience, but it seems that all of my breakups and following heartbreaks happened during summertime.
It is an evil practice!
I can't remember when I started disliking summer. As a child of course I loved it because of the holidays, but I do remember envying my brother because his birthday was in October and that was the month of Halloween.
Being a sane person, I have been fully vaccinated since late May, but now I have to arrange a test shortly before my flight. I was able to schedule a rapid test at my local CVS that should be accepted for international travel, but I'm still nervous--and irritated that so many Americans are paranoid dolts willing to jeopardize an entire society's safety out of an ignorant conception of "freedom." Societies with such low levels of trust are doomed to decline.
in the comments section, I quoted the line of dialogue he speaks here.
I got a Facebook warning threatening to restrict my account.
LOL
I sent an appeal emphasizing that Largo (as well as James Bond) are fictional characters. It was only a movie quote and Brandauer wasn't really threatening Domino here. They were only ACTING.
But Facebook weren t acting, though. They are real villains.
Something similar happened to me recently.
Wow! Empire Magazine had tons of Bond articles. I had several issues during the Brosnan era.
Sad about that! But have to say the quality of Empire mag has diminished in layout articles etc considerably over the past couple of years!
Used to buy it every month, but only occasionally now!
That was the last year for me because by the end of 2012 I had gotten my first touchscreen smart phone. I can probably count the times I’ve even bought a single magazine over the past nine years, like when the new Twin Peaks hit the cover of Entertainment Weekly. I still collect and read books because that’s how I prefer to read them. Magazines however not so much because not only can I just go online and read articles but how often am I going to read them again like an old book?
Magazines were great and fun in the context of their time but as far as physical media goes it’s not something I miss as much as going to a video rental store.
Am only subscribed to 'Cinema Retro ' if, like me, you're into movies of 60/70s era!
I still get Mi Confidential, but only occasionally!
007 magazine used to be great, but they only do specials now I think!
Handy for planes though :)
I've seen him a bit on Facebook I think, talking Bond (not that I do Bond groups there). He's often rather, erm, abrasive.
I take it there's no classy train running between the two places?
Damn, that's the kind of thing that would stress me out, particularly where Bond is concerned. I've been carefully planning my trip to the cinema to see NTTD.
Now the engine light has come on in my vehicle and I may need a mass air flow sensor. My budget is tight.
Not being mechanically inclined I fear this may interfere with my seeing Bond this week.
No busses or trains here so if all else fails my Dad may have to give me a ride to the cinema this Friday.
