I don't get it either. Everything is better in Spectre. The action, the cinematography, the locations, the jokes, the actors...
It doesn't give them an excuse but SP had no 'noose round their neck' to make the film special due to an anniversary.

Main villain: DAD
Main henchman: DAD
Dialogue: DAD
Aston vs Jag car chase: DAD
Soundtrack: DAD
You've got to be kidding
As corny as the dialogue was in DAD, it was entertaining, memorable, very quotable.
Nailed it
I feel this may be holding Spectre to higher standards than other Bond films have been held to. Jaws is considered an iconic Bond villain but has his “intellect been shown as well as his brawn”?
SP is a far better made film, but the terrible Oberfeld stuff, and the reach for extra pretension make it a real slog for me to watch.
I have to say, although neither are great films, I would sooner turn my brain off and rewatch DAD.
I was thinking more along the lines of Red Grant.
Jesus.
Look, I know it isn't a high point of the series, but at least try and pay attention.
I must admit though I am fond of DAD for nostalgic reasons. After all, it was my first Bond in theaters.
Now that's a mouthful.
And succeed.
Blasphemy !!
Just one eye, not both.
Ooooh aaaarrr me hearties...I be Long John Bond....
Wow.
Pervert and Weird :))
Corny is one thing, but Jinx' "there's a mouthful" line really was in poor taste for a Bond film.
