Monroe is easily my favorite beauty from the golden age of Hollywood.

    Her and Ava Gardner.

    and Lauren Bacall.

    and Jane Greer.

    and Jane Russell.

What am I doing here in 2018?

Anyone have a DeLorean I can borrow?

If we were back in 1952, we'd have the ENTIRE Bond film series to look forward to.
All the Sean's plus Roger's on the big screen.

Plus Marilyn, some more Bogart films and Mitchum classics.

    oh well.

    Back to DON'T BOTHER T O KNOCK.

Marilyn is confusing Widmark for her husband killed in the war.

He's starting to realize something is wrong here.

But he's going for it anyway...............I would too.

Damn. The little brat kid interrupts.

Marilyn scolds her in an imposing posture.

I love these earlier Monroe performances. She's adorable in CLASH BY NIGHT. Feisty, sassy, tough yet sensitive.

Here she's troubled and mourning the loss of her hubby.

If this were filmed today her character probably would be diagnosed with PTS or something along those lines.

She wants to push the little kid out the window.

    Go for it!!!!!

She retreats and gains her composure.

Now she's got the kid alone in the dark and is creepily telling her to go to sleep and not interrupt again.

    Her eyes looks intense!

Time to put on the Samuel L Jackson song "GO THE F*** TO SLEEP".

She has slash marks on her wrist and Widmark is having second thoughts.

There's something to be said for getting involved with somebody who is unstable and potentially dangerous.
    It can be pretty hot.

Then your life and existence is ruined. You end up in debt, without a job and possibly on the streets.

    But it's worth it.

Robert Mitchum does it all the time in his films.

Widmark, on the other hand seems to be using his good sense and avoiding further involvement.

Really hard for me to pick one favorite Marilyn Monroe movie, but this one is a strong contender.

    I'm enthralled.

Now Widmark is telling Anne Bancroft about Marilyn and her creepy behavior.

    Ooops.

    Just got caught by Marilyn.

Now the kid is in danger.

Meanwhile, Anne Bancroft is appreciating Widmark's newfound sensitivity and devising a plan to get Marilyn some help.

Now Marilyn is wandering the hotel in a half daze. Tears running down her face.

Widmark suavely calms the despondent Marilyn down as she is whisked away to the hospital.

Widmark is reunited with Anne Bancroft who takes him back.

Happy ending for a film noir.

    YAY!!!

I still would have gone for the unstable, dangerous Marilyn.
