Skyfall / Person of Interest
P.S. I’m still in my 30s but as you can see I gravitate towards older TV and movies. Half the stuff that’s out there today I’m not even familiar with and just don’t have any interest. Most of it is too dark and depressing and bizarre for my tastes.
And of course I didn’t go earlier than the 50s because TV started in the 50s.
60's: Movie The Great Escape
TV Show The Dick Van Dyke Show
70's: Movie Star Wars
TV Show All in the Family
80's: Movie Raiders of the Lost Ark
TV Show Cheers
90's: Movie The Game
TV Show Seinfeld
00's Movie The Incredibles
TV Show Amazing Race
10's Movie Star Trek
TV Show Breaking Bad
Movie - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Probs Raiders is the better film, but I have so much fun watching two legends play off each other)
TV - Red Dwarf (Smeg yeah!)
90's
Movie - Jurassic Park
TV - Buffy The Vampire Slayer (I salute @chrisisall, a fellow Buffyverse fan!)
00's
Movie - Casino Royale (Rejuvenated my beloved Bond series)
TV - House (Mesmerising performance by Hugh Laurie)
10's
Movie - Winter Soldier (the best of the Marvel efforts)
TV - The Walking Dead (bit of a cop out. Yes, the characters are frustrating, not much actually happens, but it's a freaking zombie show!)
@4EverBonded
It's my second favourite Audrey film. Sabrina will always come first. :)
70s The Aristocats/The Rockford Files
80s Angel Heart/The Simpsons
90s Bram Stoker s Dracula/The Simpsons
00s Sin City/The Simpsons
10s Inception/The Simpsons
Herbie Rides Again is another 70s favourite of mine! I was thinking of picking that or Apocalypse Now.
90's: Pulp Fiction/Seinfeld - The 90's haven't offered much for me with films, but anything Tarantino did in that decade is worth watching. Seinfeld - what else?
00's: The International/Mad Men - The International is probably a "hipster" choice, but many of the most popular films of the 00's wasn't for me -or, not in a list like this at least. Mad Men is one of my favourite shows, so that wasn't difficult. Califonication was another one I considered.
10's: Inherent Vice/Sherlock - Haven't really been excited about many films from this decade, really. Even Bond hasn't been at his best! Inherrent Vice was a surpringly enjoyable film for me - and I can't even put the finger on why. Sherlock (almost) without a doubt. A new season is like an event. Edit: Then again, I also really enjoy Endeavour…
And some films/TV shows from before I was born:
60's: From Russia With Love/Department S - Adding the 60's was purely an excuse to include one of my favourite films. Regarding TV shows, Department S is one of the few from this decade I've seen all of. The Saint, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., etc. are shows I have yet to see all of.
70's: Three Days of the Condor/Columbo - So many films to choose from in this decade! I only settled on Three Days of the Condor as it's been so long since I've watched some of the other films I considered. Columbo is probably my all time favourite TV series.
80's: Die Hard/MacGyver - Difficult decade. I seem to enjoy the comedies and the popcorn action films the best. Die Hard probably the most. As a TV decade, I've seen very few shows. MacGyver is the one I've seen most of (which is every episode), with Magnum P.I. a candidate too.
60's - Bullitt/The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
70's - The Godfather/Three's Company
80's - Scarface/Miami Vice
80's: The A-team / Knight Rider / Macgyver / Transformers / Airwolf / (Miami Vice) / Back To The Future Movies.
90's: Sliders / Kuifje ''Tin Tin'' animated series / Terminator 2 / Mrs Doubtfire / The Lion King / Aladdin / Jurassic Park
00's: Spider-Man / Mission Impossible 2 / Harry Potter 2 / Tropic Thunder / Men In Black 3 / Mad Men / Motive (Like Columbo you know the fictem and the killer. The second season include more ''one more thing''.)
With the first two seasons of Miami Vice and complete collection of The Incredible Hulk (watched first 3 seasons on the moment) i get first good watch of those. Back then at the end of the 80's / begin 90's i whas way to young or remember that i found scary. Macgyver whas also only repeat once and when i rewatched first 5 seasons i must learn to like it again. Airwolf whas new for me when i watched it on tv some where in 2004 - 2006 or so Stil need s3. Quantum Leap (complete collection) whas blind buy. Watched first two seasons. Only own one season of Magnum Pi (another serie there don't repeat much ) and on this moment i only watched pilot episodes, expect some crossover feelings with A-team and Knight Rider. Like Macgyver i get feeling it must grow on me.
I am in 80 and 70 mote. I bought 3 from the 70's ( cheating: one of them be 69 movie) that i never seen. Earlier i whas not my time yet to watch those or get the change and mabey stil it isn't.
And i must still check out The Champions (1968–1969) , a blind buy that i bought in two very nice digipacks for € 5,00 each.
90’s: Nikita & Twin Peaks
00’s: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring & Archer
10’s: The Grand Budapest Hotel & Game of Thrones
As a bonus, what I consider the best film decade:
60: La notte & Thunderbirds
60s - Dr. No/Danger Man
70s - The Spy Who Loved Me/The Persuaders!
80s - For Your Eyes Only/Magnum P. I.
90s - The Mask of Zorro/FRIENDS
00s - Ocean's Eleven/Alias
10s - The Man from UNCLE/Nikita
I know it's not perfect, but as far as the 10's go, this is one of my favourites too.
00s - Casino Royale / Doctor Who
10s - Skyfall / Curb Your Enthusiasm
Honourable mentions: Groundhog Day/Seinfeld (90s), The Incredibles/The Catherine Tate Show (00s), Rogue One/Miranda (10s)
Not that many times for me, but at least three or four - which is not something I do often (Bond and certain other films aside). Hope they do another one!
That's very true! I find it easier to put this one on, than SP or SF. A shame - being a Bond fan and all, but that's the way it is.
60s - Lawrence of Arabia/The Fugitive
70s - The Godfather & Part II/All in the Family
80s - Blade Runner/Cheers
90s - Jackie Brown/Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
00s - Casino Royale/The Wire
10s - Blade Runner 2049/Mad Men s4 - s7
Wasn't Selleck oh-so-nearly cast as Jones?
But of course Magnum was picked up and on the air a looooong time.
That must have been heartbreaking for Brosnan— can you imagine??
