Yep.
And I imagine those marketing folks are screaming for an August trailer/title reveal at this point, if it's not already agreed on.
There are many dimensions to it, but using social media as one, all the equity they're currently building in the #Bond25 hashtag isn't going to be worth much later. They need/want to get #AReasontoDie or #WhateverItIs into the conversation, pronto.
I know some fans have been wanting this for a couple of films now but I can't see it happening. Even with the mixed reaction SP got, I'd say that QoS is still the blacksheep of the Craig era. They don't seem to want to acknowledge it much. White came back sure but he was in CR so he preceded that film anyway, Quantum as an organisation was swept under the rug in favour of SPECTRE with a single mention and I don't remember Green being one of the photos in Blofeld's makeshift funhouse. I'm surprised they even paid it the amount of lip service they did to be honest after SF blew it out of the water, but I guess they didn't want to introduce a new evil organisation without at least briefly acknowledging the one they had two films ago.
But yeah I can't see Camille coming back. Best you can hope for imo is Bond dying or faking his death at the end and her popping up at the funeral but I'd say even that is very unlikely.
But SPECTRE surely didn't shy away from QUANTUM OF SOLACE. The film brought back Mr. White (after the kerfuffel of his off the cuff comments to the press that Bond was sh**) to establish his daughter as Bond Girl and apparently as a recurring character. Quantum is mentioned three times in the dialog. Green in mentioned once in dialog, appears twice on screen.
Of course the Quantum organization is not back in full force and is replaced by SPECTRE as you said, and since the filmmakers got the rights in the interim. But otherwise their presence in the 2006 and 2008 films, then absence in 2012 compares to how DR NO, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, then GOLDFINGER (and the absence of SPECTRE) played out.
No.
Hope so but my wish is (as much as I like London) that these Royal oriented shots aren't an attempt to try and promote London or atleast look like they are.
Woh, are they making the wall in pure gold? 7 millions?!
Currency rates (July 4, Forex bank):
7 200 euro =
6 458 pound or 8 116 dollar
I guess If you wanna be precise with the numbers one can use the .00
This is the exact amount in swedish kronor: 67 224.96
(I'm a swede)
But in a world where YouTube exists, does the film a trailer is 'attached' too really make a difference?
We know that filming takes places mid-August in Italy. With SP, the world's press were invited to the set in Mexico to coincide with the trailer launch. We could get something similar here in August.
However, everything with Bond 25 has been coming early. Both the first look and photo were a month prior to SF and SP.
I still agree with @antovolk that the smart money is on a short 1min 30sec trailer launching with Hobbs and Shaw. So something at the end of this months beginning of next.
I've been thinking about this; how much better will an attached trailer + a social media campaign do in comparison to just going heavy on an online trailer/campaign? I could imagine a well though out SoMe trailer launch doing really well.
For B25 it is very important to attach too because of specifics of movie's presentation. They are shooting on IMAX and it's logical that they want to show material in IMAX theatres with its high prices for ticket. It works in film's merit as showing in IMAX (before higly discussed film as "Hobbs and Shaw", for example) allows producers of B25 to demonstrate blockbuster vibe of film, it visual and sonic experience. You can't show it in Internet, online-users just wont feel it in a right way. And it's useful for cinemas. Why not to use additional to online campaign promo tool?..
That's true of course, and I'm not saying they should exclude an attached trailer. I just wonder how much difference it really makes.
Then again, I shouldn't comment on the importance of showing a trailer in IMAX, as I have no opportunity of experiencing IMAX at all.
The 'attachment' with a specific film in cinemas is still used by distributors (except Netflix and anyone else not releasing theatrically and therefore not showing trailers in cinemas) to get a timeframe/deadline as to when to release a trailer online. It's just a force of habit really, easier to say when planning months in advance 'oh we want it with Hobbs and Shaw' rather than trying to work out a specific week or day for the launch at that point.
But also having your trailer play in front of a suitable film for your target demographic (or in the case of Bond, a tentpole such as Star Wars or Avengers) is important - there was a week last year where like 20+ new big studio trailers dropped to get them out in time for the new Jurassic Park and Ocean's 8 films. As prevalent as online/social media is, there are still plenty of audiences who see trailers in cinemas, and some whose only exposure to what movies are coming up is in-cinema advertising. @Pavlo's point about IMAX is also important, all the trailers for this are no doubt gonna debut with films that are getting IMAX releases.
Brilliantly done!
Huge #Bond25 news - it has just emerged that it is incredibly likely that @brittekland will return to the #Bond franchise in the upcoming movie. The Swedish stunner starred in #TheManWithTheGoldenGun (#1974) alongside #SirRogerMoore as #BondGirl #MaryGoodnight & is said to have already shot her brief cameo appearance. 👏😁 It is also said that Britt isn’t the only returning #007 alumni with others also likely to feature. Britt, we are all hoping that this turns out to be true. Watch this space for further details.
Here's Brett these days......not sure I see the point in these cameos. If you had to have one, Grace Jones is the lady to get.
Yikes....I hope not. I wouldn't mind if Britt was playing a glamourous old woman at a Casino playing cards alongside Bond and the villain. She's got the look of old money about her.
In other (more depressing) news, a Tory has been invited to the set of Bond 25. Christ knows why he was invited, since he won't be in Cabinet by the end of the month......I presume Daniel gave him short shrift.....
Sounds a lot like the rumoured cameos of previous Bond girls in The World is Not Enough.
Must say I love the Scandinavian presence in this film; Linus Sandgren, David Dencik, scenes shot here in Norway – now maybe a Britt Ekland cameo. Come on Cary, give Maud Adams a call while you're at it!
I'd LOVE that!
I agree....but there is a big difference between showing us blatant nods to the iconography (Fields's death evoking GF/the cat and scar in SP/the jetpack in DAD) and bringing back an actress for a cheeky cameo. I kinda dig it. I mean, they look really different so it isn't too jarring.
It makes for a nice bit of trivia. Much like Tsai Chin and Diana Hartford in CR.
Good point. I'm sure the appearance wouldn't even have a speaking role. My favorite such cameo is Diane Hartford in CR (she was hot in TB) ...
Think those worked in CR because they weren't the lead actresses in YOLT and TB. If main Bond girls like Britt Ekland get cameos it gets a bit distracting.
