Sheeran and Bocelli. Chalk that up as my favourite rumour ever. God bless the Italians and their bullshit.

Sassilive is run by one guy who lives in Matera. He's been almost perfect regarding Matera stuff, because you know, small town... everybody knows each other... and everybody talks. But it's when he makes up fake rumors just for the sake of throwing away some "made in Italy" promotional stuff that he really shines. Remember when the film was going to be called THE MATER* SPY? Or when he said that Waltz has been cast in order to REPLACE Malek? Lol, there's a platinum collection of this bullshit...

*Of course in his mind Mater was supposed to be an english translation for Matera... aka The Spy from Matera... oh man, Southern Italy... :D

LANA DEL REY or cancel the film.

I’m serious.. This was the SPECTRE THEME SONG, they chose Sam Smith over this??? Eon would rather cash in on Ed’s name over an actual good artist. Dude is so pop generic. It’s bad.
Is it confirmed she submitted this song and was rejected?

Also I agree she would be terrific choice and long overdue.

Won't lie, one of the reasons I don't revisit SP that much is Sam Smith's horrid song. I hate it so much, and it does influence the viewing of the film, very much so.

If they go with sissy falsettos again I'll protest the best I can. What we need is something with true verve and style.

But this is the filming thread, isn't it? ;)

She wrote it for Bond 24. Her manager submitted it as a demo track. They chose Sam Smith.

Happens a lot. Normally they have around 2-3 big artists submit a demo track. Radiohead had one also.

Yes, yes, yes. It’s the only option in my opinion. It would be fantastic.

That little hobbit is nothing if not persistent. I give him that. I bet he's camping outside of Barbaras apartment by now.

I think it's BS anyway. I don't think EoN will even make a decision before the end of the year and why should they?
The tabloids keep spinning their Video shoot narrative, first it was Dua Lipa now it's Sheeran for the 10000th time.
And by the way, Bocelli has a Song with Dua Lipa too (which isn't half Bad and would work much better as a pairing) why not throw that story out there? Because that would be less offensive, and wouldn't make as many peoples heads explode. So f the tabloids.

How exactly can eon wait until the end of the year to pick the theme song?

Based on the above Report and others i've read, the Bond Song is last on EoN's priority list. At what time they pick one is anyones guess atm, but i would think they have options right now but not a final decision. And I bet they have a ton of options. No need to hurry.

Off topic, but I liked the SP theme song, just not the singer.

Back on topuc: why not bring back Adele?

How about an Adele/Bocelli duet? And get buried alive under a pile of Oscars :D

I wonder if the really bad weather expected in Matera will change the schedule for filming. It's goin to rain heavily at least until Wednesday.

A lot can be done with proper lighting and in post. As long as the streets are not too wet.

Oh I hope they don't delay the shooting. Wouldn't that be expensive also? How does it work to reschedule potentially hundreds of crew members and shooting permits?

And I hope Craig arrives in Matera next weekend as rumored.

Nothing to worry about. This isn t the first time a film shoots outdoors, and not the first time there is weather.

Of course, and i'm sure EoN know exactly what to do in those conditions, i just wonder what that is. I guess with CGI you can just make it (not) Rain...

They can, as you @Zekidk point out, do anything in post with CGI like make everything look dry again, but they can't or won't shoot let's say the con't of the car chase or the upcoming bike-stunt due to safety concerns.

My only concern is whether the confirmed days of the shots inside the church would change due to this, or the shots with the cast inside the hotelroom. But i guess not, they would probably find a workaround to finish the chase sequence (if there is a slight delay) at a later time or in between.
    I'm just guessing here obviously.

Productions have weather cover scenarios, so the main unit could switch to interior scenes if the weather is not suitable for exterior scenes.

Yep. Best of both worlds. They're massive commercially (getting tickets to their last tour was a bloody nightmare) so would still get the publicity that Adele and Smith got, but they also have an edge to them that those two don't have.

Also, and this is the important part, they're just really good aren't they. There's a reason they're still selling out arenas while most of the English indie guitar bands that started around the same time as them have died out or are a shadow of their former popularity. It's because they're constantly growing and evolving, which is praise that I can't give to even some of my favourite bands. Alex Turner is a genius, he already nailed the Bond sound with Last Shadow Puppets and I bet Craig would love them to do it. Give them the job already.

Like putting a heavy yellow filter throughout a whole sequence? :D

Is Malek even in the movie? :)) Seriously, how many days did he spend filming NTTD?
They will have a wet weather contingency most likely. So shooting that doesn’t require good weather I would think.

Who says he's done? ;) In fact, wasn't that a rumour for a while, that Malek's schedule couldn't fit into the new NTTD schedule after the injury, and that Craig and Malek missed a window to film together?
Of course, that later became "Malek and Craig won't have any scenes together" in the tabloids, but I have always thought there was some truth to this, and I have always assumed Malek would film the bulk of his scenes after wrapping Mr. Robot, which is now until October, maybe November. I don't know when filming for NTTD is supposed to wrap. Anyone?

It's the only film where I'd genuinely like to have a re-edited version, with the Radiohead song on the credits instead. It just makes it better.
I guess I might make the gunbarrel open up properly too while I'm doing it :)

Should’ve gone like this for craig..

    1) Casino 2006

    2) Quantum 2008

    3) Skyfall 2011

    4) Spectre 2014

    5) No Time To Die 2017/2018

    6). Bond 26 2020

    Craig retires.

I mean too many long gaps for films and Craig is just looking super old at this point. Great shape and not bad for one final film but no way could he do another and have it released in 2024. He loves those 4-5 year gaps!

    2008-2012 (4 years)

    2015-2020 (5 years)

The writers strike and studio bosses have cost DC possibly equalling RM record of 7 films. He could have possibly even beaten it? A real shame but as we know a similar issue happened to TD costing him a 3rd movie.

I still think he'll do a total of 6. All the talk about this definitely being his last (which he has never confirmed, nor has anyone else) just might tick him off enough to come back again. Craig seems to be the kind of guy that will do what he wants and even more so if the general consensus is that he should do the opposite. It's like, people kept wanting him back for NTTD and he wanted to be done after SP. Now that all the news repeats over and over he's done after this he might say, screw you, I'm doing another!

Hopefully it just won't be another 5 years when Bond 26 is released.
