I think one or two of the Italian articles mentioned the pre-title sequence (shall we say scenes, perhaps set over more than one day) would be one of the longest in the series.
Aaah there we go then..aiming to beat TWINE PTS !
Well TWINE'S speed boat chase was originally scripted for after the titles, but I suspect this one is very specifically designed to be like a mini-movie which explains how and why Bond and Madeleine get split apart, and then we jump 4-5 years and find Bond alone in Jamaica after the titles. Just a theory.
That's very logical and would make sense,Colonel.
You can't be serious. The theme song is never announced this early in the game, we didn't even get a teaser. Moreover, the band claimed that they wrote this a year ago even though EON came up with the title only a month ago.
But yeah, I'm sure that EON would totally hire a band no one has ever heard of for Bond 25 even though they went after the "flavour of the month" for years.
I suspect Eon are wise to how quickly we and others put together the structure of SF and SP based on the scene numbered clapperboards. We've only seen the 2nd Unit slates in Italy so far - and check back on one of my earlier posts, last week I think, about clapperboard slate or scene numbers (slate and take numbers for UK boards) or scene numbers (the US system, which has been increasingly adopted over here, but not entirely.)
I have my serious doubts as well. This is almost 100% not the title song. We know that EON/MGM likes those Oscar wins, and to get nominated the song needs to be written for the film. And to have a high-profile artist.
However, I can see them feature on the soundtrack as a song that's played in the background. I can see Fukunaga go for a Bond film that features songs as well as instrumental score. Or maybe, just maybe we get an end credits song again?
Thanks for the support @Benny.
One day I will rule over MI6-HQ ... "Mohahaha" (villain laughter in a cave)
Could be an instrumental for the end credits? They said they are releasing on Sunday.
I would say they have an instrumental or song that could possibly be tied to the film somehow.
This is Cary’s film. He is doing what he wants.
Now the top 3 contenders based on popularity for the title artist are..
1) Lana Del Rey (she’s been killing it this year and just released an album).
2) Dua Lipa, still think there was some truth to her being considered. She definitely had a demo track.
3) A popular singer who hasn’t been in the spotlight recently but a big name who could easily do the title. Think of someone like Buble’..
Just awesome. If this time the locations, actors and vehicles are matched by the script in terms of quality, I think we will see a fabulous final Craig Bond film.
If this band is really doing the song then I’m fine with it. They are a British rock band.
I’m tired of the generic pop crap.
They are not doing the song. Just trying to get some action by pretending they are. Sad.
They are 100% not doing the song and we will never remember or talk about it again after it passes from this discussion.
Ooh la la, Lea makes the scenery behind her look dull.
Just asked them and they said..
“It’s a song.. By us... And we can’t say anything until Sunday... Stay tuned!”
Even if Cary is directing, is the creative mind, etc, it's still EON/Danjaq who's calling the shots (and partly MGM). No way in hell they would let any artist or band release full song or even a teaser just like that.
Any news on composer, artist, song, title goes via 007 site/social media and or press conf. of some sort.
Right?
Passing by, probably...
Just translated the text:
"While in Piazza Duomo the filming of the funeral procession was being prepared and on the steps Duomo was parading a procession of a Madonna similar to that of Bruna, but with blond rather than brown hair, in the palace of the Archbishop's Curia a connection was made for the second consecutive day with Matera, set of the film "No time to die" with James Bond and that for two days also recorded the presence of the protagonist Daniel Craig who plays the most famous and loved 007 in the world and his bond girl, the French actress Lea Seydoux.
The new hosts of the 2019-2020 edition of the Rai 1 program “La vita in diretta”, Lorella Cuccarini and the Tg1 journalist, Alberto Matano gave the line to the correspondent Antonella Delprino, who managed to show some images of the set in Piazza Duomo and then interviewed "Don Pino", the Archbishop of the Diocese of Matera and Miss Matera 2019, the Materan model and blogger Manuela Festa, who was also engaged for two days as an appearance in the film "No time to die" . Live life ”has made three connections with Matera."
EON, MGM and I suppose Universal in this case call the shots as to when, yes. But when they've decided that, the artist is free to release the song via their social media. Sam Smith posted a teaser with him wearing the Spectre ring on his Instagram, it was only the next day EON officially announced he was doing the theme. Adele announced her involvement by posting a title page of the sheet music on her Twitter account, after that 007 posted about it. Both Writing's on the Wall and Skyfall were released on the YouTube channels of the singers, not the 007 one.
And even then, they're prone to the occasional slip up. Adele said during Graham Norton that 'she was doing a theme'. While not a full confession, it seemed obvious what she meant.
TWINE: 14 scenes. Runtime 14:01
SF: 18 scenes. Runtime: 12.58
SP: 12 scenes. Runtime: 13:02
NTD? We know that scene 15 is at the lake in Norway. Either this is at the end of the PTS or right after the main titles. A 1st unit clapperboard from Matera or Sapri will reveal a whole lot. Here's hoping for a fan on ground with a very long zoom lens :-)
I personally think the Norway scenes will be directly after the title sequence. Although they are shooting a huge amount in Italy, we have to assume that not all of it is going to feature in the PTS.
