I think having a younger, hipster director who clearly is a bit of playboy himself is having a big impression on this film.
being a 'feminist' doesn't mean you can't embrace sexuality. If anything Phoebe Waller-Bridge's 'Fleabag' is the perfect summation of this fact.
Interesting that Cary and Linus shot this quiet romantic scene with IMAX cameras. It's not so common to use this type of camera to film such scenes. It definitely means that Cary wants to underline gorgeous view from the balcony.
I suspect that they filmed interior scenes in hotel room with 35 mm and smoothly transfer image from 35 to IMAX while one of the characters go to the balcony (logically and visually based change of aspect ratio). Must look great.
I must say, I’m not digging Bond’s outfits in Italy at all.
Great that they're infusing the film with some culture. This is part of what Bond is about, especially the Fleming novels. This sort of thing was sadly missing from the Brosnan movies.
She is not smoking a cigarette, @Pierce2Daniel, she's lighting a small piece of paper on fire and trowing it out of the balcony, just like we've see some people do during the filming, particularly the old lady on the balcony on top of Bond and Swann kissing.

I've been saying for ages that Bond should use a tie to strangle someone. And his watch as a knuckleduster.
I think maybe he made an offer to Maddy on that balcon and they decided to marry on next day. That's why he wore suit and Maddy wore that white dress. Probably before wedding James decided to visit Vesper grave as some sort of saying goodbye to that part of his life and then action is starting.

Craig used his Omega as a knuckleduster in CR, during the sinking house sequence. It was, however, trimmed down to essentially nothing.

Well we saw the V8Vantage coming out of some trucks, so the coastal line will now doubt double for Norway if the Range Rovers are there too.
