The cast was released in April with Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux, Rami Malek, and ... Dali Benssalah.
It was the assistant of the director who first saw me in a clip for my band, The Blaze. She showed it to the director Cary Joji Fukunaga. It was intriguing, says the comedian, who grew up in Rennes. I spent an audition in Paris with the casting director and another in front of the director where I played in English, performs stunts. Ten days after, I was in England pure repetitions.
Playing in James Bond, could he imagine? I do not realize it's like a waking dream, I loved Casino Royale, already with Daniel Craig, the realism of the fights this character both kill for a governmental organization and human, who knows problems of alcohol. He had given a broad spectrum to this character James Bond, I really wanted to see the suile!
Right now, it's the rush. One is right in it. There are plenty of paparazzi looking to take Daniel Craig, as we leave the touring is crazy!
I've taken the interview from his Instagram page, so perhaps someone can provide a better translation. What is clear is that Fukunaga was impressed with Benssalah from The Blaze clips. He pops in his video - especially around 2:23:
