Very nice! Love they included “countdown” and “trailer.”
Nicholas Buc, Composer | Conductor | Arranger:
Calling all Bond fans! This weekend we’ve got 3 performances with the @sydneysymphonyorchestra of #SkyfallinConcert at the @sydneyoperahouse. #DanielCraig #Sydney #SydneySymphonyOrchestra #SydneyOperaHouse #JamesBond
Yeah true but Endgame was the culmination of a 20+ series of films and after Infinity War the hype was so high that it would’ve gross two billions without even a trailer, probably. Bond is obviously different, since comes out after a 4,5 years hiatus and a film with mixed reactions. Since it is basically official I will be also kind of surprised if they won’t promote the film as Craig’s last run.
They won't promote the film as Craig's last.
But the media will.
All four Craig films have featured the song’s melody in the score.
Absolutely. Although I am hoping the composer weaves more of the song's theme into the film than Newman did.
I'm going to this tomorrow night. Super pumped. I saw Casino Royale in the Opera House too with the orchestra. Just incredible. The chase between Bond and Mollaka left me sweating due to the tension of the live music, despite watching the film a thousand times.
Nothing feels more Bond than watching one of his films at the Opera House. Now I just need him to actually come down here and film!
I count six.
I'm not sure what you are leaving out and why.
There's a difference of quantity between 'interwoven' and 'featured'. The only one truly interwoven is YKMN.
She's a class act.
God, going to watch this film :))
Jaime looks like younger version of M.
To be fair they are both getting on, I'm not surprised. Even Daniel is in his fifties now.
They need to introduce fresh blood with Bond 26 or just sell the rights entirely. If Babs said she won't make another film without Craig then perhaps number 25 is the perfect note to hand things off to another team who are passionate and eager.
Who cares? Honestly. And QoS's one is all the way through that movie: the whole film even ends on a quote from it.
Reading between the lines I think he and the rest of the production are quietly confident in NTTD and are really excited (maybe more than usual) for NTTD to hit cinemas. I’m really looking forward to seeing the NTTD interviews with the cast around time of release. This interview with JLC is great and they have some nice interaction and as mentioned, Craig looks relaxed, at ease and really positive.
Exciting times ahead and no doubt that will ramp up considerably on the arrived of the trailer (December fingers crossed!! PLEASE) 🍸
The obvious answer is that quite a few people do, evidently.
And I believe this is what is going to happen!
Has to be. Has to be. As a marketer -- heads should roll in marketing if it doesn't.
It certainly would be a very wise decision at this point. It would go a long way.
Exactly. A token appearance of a title song only playing for few seconds (or barely anything noteworthy at all in QOS) is not exactly the same as richer Bond scores in the past with Barry doing entire tracks with different variations.
Of the Michael and Barbara era, TWINE and YKMY are the only titles to be properly elaborated throughout the scores, with TND only featuring the rejected “Surrender”.
Quite right, @MakeshiftPython
And I say this as someone who adores the QoS score and admires that it manages to be so strong without that added element of a memorable theme song to interweave.
I wouldn't quite go that far but it would certainly be a huge missed opportunity.
I have yet to find a teacher or a bricklayer who is being watched by an army of fans and casual viewers while at work, checked by the media, known by about everyone in the world, questioned and criticised by millions for everything he does at work. You are making a false equivalence. I'm not saying Craig cannot be criticised. He's an actor for crying out loud. But let's not complain about him complaining sometimes on how exhausting it is. And by the way, teachers, bricklayers and so on are well within their right to find their job exhausting and thankless.
