OR that Romer didn't leave at all, and that the rumour is untrue. Anyway, I don't think EON will make an announcement à la "We have got a new composer!".
If they indeed got someone else, the earliest we might notice is when they put out a new poster with a text block underneath, and someone else's name is next to 'Music by'.
Just got home from seeing it. Think I enjoyed more than CR!
Well of course. IF the rumor is true. Anyway, if an important member of the crew has been replaced by another one, the news is usually quickly reported by the media. Never heard about blockbusters of this size where people find out a big crew member change from the theatrical posters... but this production is so secretive that every option seems possible.
Not just a million bucks, there's also all those sweet little back end deals and promotions. How many brickies can get a promotional deal for CAT? Acting might be hard work, but then, actors are paid well... very well.
Strangling the cat? ;)
Yes, I would've expected it got picked up by the mainstream trades by now, so that's why I'm leaning towards 'false rumour' at the moment. With the poster I meant earliest possible confirmation by EON, as they usually don't respond to what gets written, even if it's 100% correct. But I agree: normally these things get picked up by industry journalists. And if Romer's off the project, wouldn't they have written about that too? And listed possible replacements? The fact that it stays silent for so long, doesn't make the rumour credible.
Fair point. I must say I like it more when only bits of the melody are woven into other tracks (the way Arnold did with AWTD in Field Trip) but I do wish it was done more often and the song should indeed get at one full instrumental arrangement in the score (I guess you're talking about tracks like Bond meets Tatiana, Alpine Drive, Dance with Domino, That's my little Octopussy and Bond meets Stacy). Those are some of Barry's finest tracks indeed and perfectly accompany the scenes they're played in.
First cue that always pops into my head in this regard is Oddjob's Pressing Engagement.
The way Barry moves from the title song to the Bond theme and then back again is masterful. So, so good.
And the obvious answer is 'why'? It makes no difference. You didn't notice it in QoS so why would you notice it elsewhere? I like it sometimes, sometimes I'm not bothered. It doesn't make a great score on its own either way.
I think that rumour is looking pretty ropey to be honest.
I don't think it's been overly secretive at all to be honest. They've done plenty of little bits to keep the fans happy, from the nice official key image of Bond in front of the V8, the making of snippet, behind the scenes visits, the Goldeneye launch, title reveal... they're busy trying to make a film but I think they've done just the right amount of interaction. And that's not including all of the paparazzi photos which I'm not convinced aren't sometimes a little stage-managed..
Sublime.
Thank you.

At this stage into production NTTD is by far the most secretive recent Bond. Not a problem if you ask me but man, but this is basically a fact. Just think about the title alone. In the last two we knew far more stuff regarding the film*, at this stage, almost five months before the premiere.
*without taking the leak into account.
EON have done a bang up job in keep information sparse. It’s impressive and most welcome.
That's great news! Can't wait! Always great to meet a fellow Australian Bond fan. I'm travelling up from Canberra. On the bus at this very minute. Skyfall here I come.
Not hard

“Catering van serving mud pies at Pinewood. Diamonds Are Forever remake?”
And it’s got us fans hungry for something. I don’t even care for a teaser at this point, I just wanna get a glimpse of the cinematography.
Not only the gallery. They write "Countdown to the trailer"
I saw that.
Apparently MI6 knows the date. Teasing on my twitter. Schweinhundt..
But you're unable to articulate why? Perhaps it doesn't matter as much as you think it does.
Can you disregard the leak? It revealed the entire film.
