It's interesting that you say this, as I've always considered Casino Royale's Bond to be becoming the Bond we know and love, and so in this way, not as traditionally "Bondian" as other entries. Obviously an amazing film, very true to Fleming, and one that NTTD should aspire to.
Ah, I thought you may have, I agree from that perspective.
It’s interesting what people class as fleming. Casino Royale is Fleming’s bond IMO. QoS is more brutal but the elements aren’t there. There’s no joy, little sophistication. In CR he eats Royal beluga, stands when the lady approaches his table, enjoys Bollinger Grand Annee, wins with style and makes the most of his time. In QOS he is more of a loner that indulges himself in nothing. Understandable but I don’t get much of that from Fleming. Just my Two penneth.
True that, I forgot about Fleming's hedonism. Then I'll take that back. CR is the most Flemingian, with QoS being a close second.

Expected, but nice to have the confirmation. Don’t like to read the speculation of “least sexually charged Bonds in ages.”
Anyway, it will be great if the filmmakers pack some Scooby snacks into No Time To Die to be relished.
Well it's just speculation as you said. But it will probably stay in the back of my mind when watching it. We'll see. From the trailers i didn't get that feeling yet, but theres the possible issue of 'monogamy' and how it will play out, as we had discussed before.
I quite like QOS there’s a decent idea trying to get out.
I forget which book but I’m sure Fleming describes Bonds love of indulgence as being because he know he will be dead by the statutory retirement age of 45 so he lives each day as his last. It’s a great encapsulation of what motivates Bond. I do think the films forget that in some respects. Almost like He drinks bollinger because he’s cool and rich. Not so IMo.
Wonderful.
Thanks for sharing mate. Is that what it normally is?
Does this mean anything for the film? More or less violent and less sexualised.
Will Bond be monogamous
A very encouraging interview...
Rating is more or less the same. But the description is a tad different in that it doesn't feature 'sexuality' as did all the Brosnan and Craig films until Spectre, which had 'sensual' instead, whatever that means. Now we arrived at suggestive... A bit weird. I thought judging from the trailers, the Matera Hotel room stuff should have been enough to get it there...
Ahh thanks replying man. It's definitely interesting to see how No Time To Die will be different, I wonder how it will affect the film, if it all.
I do hope the fights are more full on, like Casino, because you felt every blow and injury to Bond in that film.
I'll be honest, I did half expect a more subdued vibe in terms how sexualised the film will be, with Madeline returning, the MeToo movement and so on.
If handled right, it could be interesting to see how Bond handles being monogamous. Provided it doesn't look to us the audience, like he's changed and had his wings clipped so to speak
Just checked the local cinema s web page. Looks like it will be rated 15 here in Norway, the premiere is April 3rd and the runtime is scheduled as 2h36min.
Not necessarily. It's not as weird as Fleming for starters, which is a label I'd more quickly place on Skyfall.
In a lot of cases for Bond, the stranger the better.
I always suspected that Bond could end up being monogamous in NTTD, due to Barbara saying it's an epic love story, and Madeline returning etc.
Thankfully EoN were smart enough to frontload the film with some sexy time in an Matera hotel room, and show it in the trailer. That should have shut a lot of people up who though that the film could end up being totally sexless due to Metoo and all that stuff, but i was never worried about that, because a bond film (or book) without a conquest is like a hamburger without meat. It's part of the formula.
But the question remains what happens in the time he's "single". After all it does look like they break up for good, and he's back on his own in Jamaica. From what i can tell it does very much look like he is hitting on Nomi in that Jamaica bar. OR what would be even cleverer is if she is actually hitting on HIM (if you wanna be progressive and independent, why not go for that). The point is he does seem very open to it, and they do end up in his bedroom after all. Only then does she reveal who she really is (and takes of her wig, as it's next to her on the bed), so everyone can guess for themselves how they end up there. And even though the scene does not materialize into anything else than a couple knees being threatened, it would still be a great opportunity for some sexy banter.
And then there is the big question mark of Paloma... She will probably not have enough screen time to have any meaningful exchange with Bond, and be single minded on her Job and Spectre, but i do hope i'm wrong, and they will have a little flirt in between.
