People are allowed to believe whatever they want and be misanthropic or whatever, but I think expressing a desire for people to die shouldn't be allowed in this forum.

I'm not trying to pick a fight and I won't be continuing this discussion, I just felt the need to say this.

    Throwing my support behind this.

Sad comment i heard today "I was 14 when Spectre came out... now i'll be 20 when NTTD comes out."

I am here for you brother. My elementary school was spent waiting for Skyfall and what a long four years that was. Then the three years for spectre wasn’t bad. I watched spectre when I was 13. I will have gone through all of highschool and start college at 18 and then see NTTD

The gaps are simply inexcusable. QOS was my first Bond film in theaters when I saw just a kid, and now I'm deep into college and am still waiting on the current era to finish. I'm really hopeful things can change for the better for the series moving forward after Craig, and we can see more regular, solid releases - possibly through streaming services.

Annoyed that it has been pushed back, but actually more worried about the virus itself.

This decision has obviously been made at the highest level, with inside knowledge of what global crisis we are really facing here. If it has been pushed back to November, EON know something that we all don't know yet.

    Very worrying.

I get pushing back the film's release date. But November?

I am in a state of shock.

I'm sure I speak for most here when I say I'm extremely disappointed that we now have to wait till November for the movie.

    Good grief.

I'd rather risk getting the virus and seeing the film tbh.

You’re happy to pass it to any family members over 60 or young children and risk them dying then? So you can watch a movie?

Human beings are virus themselves. They've been destroying the planet, keep killing and torturing other people or animals, children are subject to child labour, wars and slavery are still a thing etc. Not OP here but yes, I'd be happy to pass the coronavirus to as many people as possible, even more so if a Bond movie was my reward for that.

What an idiotic thing to say. Embarrassing.

I was 16 for Casino Royale. Now 30 for NTTD. ~O)

14 when CR was out, 28 if NTTD arrives in November

Now a 3hr Bond film suddenly makes more sense....after this epic wait, a lot to look forward to at least.

    Haha nice one.
  • Hundreds of thousands people die each year because of the flu.
The reaction to this new virus is insane.

Something worth bearing in mind for folks speculating/hoping for changes to the film - doubt that will happen. Cary and a lot of the others involved have other projects they're booked for after NTTD's original release so I think production wise they'll stay mostly on existing schedule, then the film will sit in the can till November.

The interesting thing is marketing and how they'll go about it. How many new trailers and when, will they do Comic Con...might we get part of the PTS as an IMAX prologue with Tenet?

It's percentage rate is higher than the flu, so the reaction isn't exactly insane.

The seasonal flu gets close, most winters, to pushing many western health services to their breaking point.

Now imagine something that is ten times worse than the flu (which it roughly is, going by confirmed death rates) which is added on top of the flu , because the flu itself is not going away, and you see why governments are reacting the way they are.

They want to prevent it from becoming endemic, which means being harsh now, locking the stable door before the horse has bolted rather than afterwards.

If it becomes endemic then most governments will be dealing with the fallout and cost of massively overwhelmed health services

Yeah, Daniel Craig was due to film Todd Field's The Creed of Violence once NTTD wrapped up, so he'll be busy with this Mexico-set western for the foreseeable future.

So no more editing and tinkering to perfection with all the extra time? post production is likely to go on maybe not as heavy but some up until the film is released they want to make sure its perfect whenever its released its thier job. Until they announce post production has ended they are going to continue editing. Talking about cary and the editors not the actors and also actors do overlap all the time with films but I'm sure it will be just cary and the editors and probably Zimmer scoring during the wait.

Don't get me wrong I can see Cary coming back to this like in September and see with fresh eyes if the film still works and tinkering a bit but don't expect anything like major reshoots

Yeah I'm not expecting major reshoots definitely minor stuff. I doubt they would be doing nothing though too much time and opportunity to make things just right. It should help Zimmer not having to rush to put together a score. All I hear on this film is things constantly changing I think the structure of the film will be the same it's all the rest of the stuff might change or not should be interesting 7-8 months ahead.

If this film was by George Lucas or Stanley Kubrick you'd have a point. But that's not how it works. For example: Wonder Woman 1984 has already completed post-production awhile ago. Just because it's not released until June doesn't mean the filmmakers should keep tinkering with it. When a film is finished, it's finished.

The only times it would be called for to make alterations is for something very specific, like how THE PREDATOR had Olivia Munn's original introduction edited because it featured an actor that was a registered sex offender that Munn had to interact with and was not happy about it.

We will see every film is different and all I hear is things are changing with this film on a constant basis it depends film to film. All I know is that post production is still going on or is it we have any information on if it is or when it will end? Typically bond films seem to like to edit till the final days till release.

That's because Bond films usually have a pretty short post-production schedule compared to other films. Until NTTD, I don't think a Bond film has ever had such a long gap between final shooting and release date.

It is not known how the epidemic will develop and whether the November date is not at risk. Another threat now is that Bond 26 will not be created in 2022 to celebrate the 60th anniversary.
It will be very hard to withstand the next 7 months until the premiere of NTTD... :(
I wonder if any corrections will be made during these few months. In my opinion a second song should be created at the end of the film. There is an opportunity to go back to the tradition of two theme songs of the times from TLD to TWINE, and the second song is needed for to the next promotion campaign of NTTD in autumn IMO.

That's true it would be helpful if we had info on if they are done editing completely and aren't going to edit anymore. That being said if they wanted to or whatever they are doing they have plenty of time to do what they want till the final product is put out.

I believe the chances of that happening -- even before the advent of the virus -- was approximately ZERO.

The earliest we'll see B26 (with a new lead actor) is around 2025.

The running time was confirmed to be 2 hours and 43 minutes, so I'm sure the editing was already complete, especially since Zimmer already worked on the score for it. If there's any more editing to be done it would be minor tinkering at the most.
