Re-assuring that Tildesley & co. went through all the previous films for reference points
Tildesley reveals that a rocket was being built at Pinewood and a Russian gulag being built in the mountains in Canada. Perhaps this is the place rumoured to be where Bond would be imprisoned......

Besides the fact that Bond would have been imprisoned for a large portion of the narrative, what exactly do we know about the story that Boyd was developing? It's the first time I learn about a possible rocket in the plot.

Trying to remember the rumours from 2018... obviously a Russian villain to be played by Tomasz Kot, but also something about a villain's female accomplice having a big role, as well as a female rookie MI6 agent. And now with Tildesley mentioning a giant rocket, I wonder if Boyle and Hodge found some inspiration in Fleming's Moonraker?

There was a casting call back in 2018.

Also, I found an article supporting the idea that Boyle wanted to kill Bond. It's from the Daily Mail, but still.

The 'Boyle wanted to kill 007' rumour has been pitched as something he wanted and something he fought against. We will have to see how NTTD ends to find out who was on what side...

Meanwhile, whilst Rami Malek was an uninspired choice - a masterstroke really, I was stunned when he was mentioned as he's perfect for the part but had never come to my mind before - but Tomasz Kot would also be great.

Kot just looks so a dapper, evil villain in the making. I hope we get to see him in a big production, as he really stood out in the Cold War. Which was a little overhyped and uneventful for my tastes otherwise....seriously sexy cinematography though

It looks like EON has a few recurring issues with casting Eastern European guys as the lead villain.

Jan Werich, much like Max Von Sydow, is far too nice looking and grandfatherly to be threatening, imo.

He's a writing for a number of UK film sites. Could we be getting something new?

Seems he's making a joke about the 1990s Columbo episode of the same name....

1960's Max Von Sydow would have made a great Bond villain, IMO:

The 60s instead of the 80s? I could see that.

Thank you for reminding me of all this information! If I do remember Boyl's will to cast Tomasz Kot as a villain, a very good choice if you ask me, I don't remember having read anything about a female bad guy or a rookie MI6 agent. I guess the last may have become the character of Lashana Lynch through the rewrites. The link with the novel Moonraker is in any case interesting. I hope that we will learn more over the next years.

For a more hands on villain, it would have had to have been the 60's or the 70's. He was effortlessly dangerous looking as Joubert in Three Days of the Condor, for example.

Any chance Danny Boyle and his crew come back for Bond 26 given the likely changes coming to the film industry post COVID? I know its highly unlikely given the recent split but this pandemic has caused more unlikely things. Others have hypothesized that smaller budgets and fewer cast will be preferred which sounds like the early days of the Boyle production.

Doubtful, but stranger things have happened. I'd wager, very doubtful.

I do remember you saying the split between EON and Boyle was finite. I am just hopefully they will pick up on the idea of filming the next one in Canada.... selfishly that is

Am a Danny Boyle fan. And when I look at his filmography, I know Boyle isn't a fan of Big Budget films. He's more comfortable with indie films, like The Beach,Trainspotting, etc. I don't think he was ever entirely comfortable with a very large crew, so he just used the opportunity of the disagreement & left. Am sure they would have worked things out, if he really wanted. I can't help but think Boyle was always telling himself 'Should I stay or should I go' before and after he took on directing duties for Bond.

I don't know the entirety of Danny Boyle's Bond plot, but one think I know is Boyle's Bond would have been a very stylish picture.

If only they'd throw us a bone. A new poster. Something. It's not as though the producers make the posters themselves. They could have a new Bond centric poster come out with a new Zimmer tracker. Fans would be so happy.

I think much has to do with if November is still a feasible date...they aren't going to start up the marketing until its clear November is close to a certainly. Currently, it's close to 50/50 if it'll make that date or be pushed into 2021.

There is clearly a 'cut off' date where Eon/MGM need to make that call....I suspect it'll be sometime in August. But much will happen between now and then. I think everyone is loking towards Warner Bros and Disney to see how they handle their releases for July/August before committing with any date in 2020.

On top of all that, you have the VOD question, which is due a new experiment in the form of 'King of Staten Island' soon; a trailer for which has just dropped (it's a Universal release as well). I imagine Eon/MGM will want to see those numbers regardless if their intention is to pursue a theatrical release:

In short, we aren't getting any new marketing until its clear that the pandemic has subsided. Remember, there's a very real chance we will be locked down till next year regardless of what the governments saying..........

Disney's musical drama Hamilton, originally due for a wide-release in theaters on October 15, 2021, will now be going straight to VOD on Disney+ on July 3, 2020.

Shot of new 00 agent Nomi in the upcoming James Bond No Time To Die. I worked in costume props and assisted Kevin Giles in the make of Nomi’s harness in this photo. Costume cut by Simone Feulner. Costumes designed by the wonderful #SuttiratLarlarb. Cant wait to see more and be able to share more!

Oh, wow. Completely forgot about those.

I really do hope we find out, in detail, what Boyle's film was going to be after NTTD is properly released. The MI6 site led us to believe on Twitter they'd had firsthand accounts of the script, so hopefully it does one day all come to light...

Here's hoping NTTD gets the same treatment when the time comes. Coz i seriously don't see the movie being released in the cinemas in November. Right now I don't care how I see it just as long as I get to see it. No more delays please.
