I'm glad to see the theorycrafting coming back to this forum after all the angst from before.

From all the trailers we've seen so far, I've just pieced together a little sequence that's I've noticed.

    unknown.png

Sometime after the forest showdown, it seems that Bond meets up with Nomi in her Aston Martin. Notice that he is wearing the same long coat we see him in during the Land Cruiser pursuit and the foggy forest sequence, and that Nomi is wearing some sort of white suit, which we then see her wear in these shots:

    unknown.png

    unknown.png

They drive off and get to the Hercules that is transporting Q and his New Nellie

    unknown.png

    unknown.png

After this, we see that Bond is already in the tactical sweater and gear that he wears during the Safin fight. Nomi then pilots the plane to what appears to be the bowels of Safin's lair.

    unknown.png

    unknown.png

So the two largest battle sequences (forest/fog and Safin's lair) will be apparently very clustered together. Knowing that the big Landrover chase happens at Scene 145 and the movie presumably ends around the 240 mark, either the lair scene wil be very long, or something will happen to Bond in the middle of him finishing the forest fight and meeting Nomi on the road.

The biggest question now is what happens in the middle of the film? So far, we have no real info or confirmation on anything. Will this be where Madeleine's big secret is revealed? Or will something else that hasn't been leaked yet take us by surprise?

Aren't there some London scenes post-Cuba and then pre-lair attack?

Yeah, there are, but so far we've not had any indication of when they happen. I may go scrub through the Prince Charles visit to see if I can catch anything, but I don't think anyone's found it out yet. Also, no way would London scenes pad out the time so much unless they're really doing something crazy in the office or Q's apartment, which from what we've seen of the promotional material, there may? be an extended scene in there.

I miss the iris opening on the first shot. I’d like to see that in No Time to Die.

There's a theory doing the rounds that the film opens in this manner:

    MGM logo:

    GaseousBlueColt-size_restricted.gif

    Safin at the lake:

    67079f89b38eac356eeb47e1863490b0cf429fd3.gifv

    Then the gunbarrel:

    77f4ed99c5cc5450beb638b9e005d27f.gif

    Then Matera for the PTS:

    tenor.gif?itemid=15722831

    Main titles:

    QN9V.gif

MGM logo —> Classic gunbarrel —> Frozen lake scene, last shot is young Swann emerging from the water then cut to present Swann emerging from the Mediterranean waters (filmed at the Grotta della Poesia) and swimming towards Bond —> Enter Matera in the DB5 —> Matera stuff - sex, procession, Vesper’s grave, chase - ending with Bond leading Swann at the station —> NTTD by Eilish.

    My two cents.

I'll raise two cents on that. It just works out so well, doesn't it? Well done, Mr. Roark.

Yes, kinda works, especially since it would give to the lake scene a dreamy quality, plus the audience would be able to quickly understand who that blonde girl is...
Exactly, plus having everything in “the past” be contained between the gunbarrel and the title sequence makes so much sense.

The Norway sequence in concept alone kinda reminds me of the opening of Rogue One.

This is precisely what i was thinking...

The problem I have is that the plot will have to jump around a lot. The Norway scenes take place in the 1990s, then Matera is 2015 and the rest in 2020. I think you need to very carefully navigate those changing time periods, otherwise you'd have covered over 20 years in 20 minutes. It's a bit intense.

Intelligently planned transitions between those scenes will make them flow very easily.

@Denbigh that tunnel scene where bond is shooting is most probably in saffin lair not in the opening, even his clothes looks familiar from a tv spot. Cary BTS footage showed Rami was standing in the same tunnel. That shot is most probably from the finale.

But then again, Cary could very well start with some montage with Bond alone in the tunnel, he turns, shoots at us > Gun barrel.. and then Norway.

Bond is wearing this in two or three scenes which we saw, could be before Norway finale.

The middle picture takes place during the Cuba sequence. Notice the shirt has a collar.

Ah good catch @DonnyDB5 , didn't saw that.

@phantomvices i think after Cuba sequence there is that London scene where bond, Nomi & Madeline will be together to meet Blofeld and M as well, in that traditional office.

    I *love* this idea.

    The best of both worlds.

You get a tense, moody opening that cuts in surprisingly right after the MGM logo (a Craig-era tradition in the first three films, that really is a neat way to open a Bond film by keeping the audience on their back foot) but ALSO still technically keep the gunbarrel "at the beginning" -- and allow for the opportunity for a rousing moment that pivots to Bond, his theme, and Matera.

Potentially brilliant, if that's the way they've gone.

They should do a Friday the 13th Part 6 and have a gunbarrel sequence in the eye of Safin’s mask haha :D

Pretty cool still although horrible quality (from the screengrab collection I found).

    cmyqPjY.jpg

I wonder when they gonna start publish them. Out of 272 stills in that collection we have only seen maybe 25-30 so far in colour and High-res.

Considering that Bond wears the same outfit in the car as well as after, when he's chasing a helicopter on foot, running out of forest I would not be surprised if that would be what preceeds the final encounter with Safin. He's being chased, somehow loses the car and whoever is with him (Madeleine ?) gets kidnapped, then we see him watching helicopter getting away and then he meets Nomi

I think NTTD would be the first Bond film, where Bond wields a machine gun the most, whether he's on a Tux(which is a first) or in his DB5....Maybe the machine gun thing is because Cary is an American Director.

🤣 just kidding, but hope Bond doesn't use a machine gun in the Gunbarrel sequence though, with all this talk of NTTD changing everything.

Lol, imagine bond trying to shoot through gunbarrel and missed with machine gun and he kept shooting at it out of frustration. This is something i would love to see in Austin powers.

Can someone please tell me why the people who keep pushing for a black Bond never even mention the possibility of an Asian Bond? There are more British Asians than black British people.

    Well said.

Agreed, based on their strength in storytelling. Or Rockstar, who’ve nailed the open world concept.

I was thinking: if the film comes out in November, could they possibly release a second trailer in August (like they did for Spectre) or we already know too much to give us some other bits? ;)

Maybe EON can do something similar to this, with quick shots of older scenes, and maybe one or two new additional shots, so they don't reveal much. Give Craig's Bond a Studio shoot, with stylish shots of him in a Tux or Business suit, with him holding his PPK, accompanied by Zimmer's music....Maybe use various designs and patterns from the Gunbarrel as a Backdrop for the trailer.

I don't know, but maybe EON have something better.

    My suggestion.

They film a 20-minute short feature with over the top action and a cleverly thrilling and hilarious conclusion to a Bond mini-mission. To be shown over and over up to the November release date strictly open-air projected on sides of buildings and on the huge television screens (sound available on-line). Then slap it on the eventual DVD/Bluray.

    Just sayin'.
