Not yet. That was only a preview >>

With around seven months between No Time To Die’s intended April arrival and its eventual upcoming November release date, that’s plenty of time to make extra adjustments and last-minute changes. But it sounds like Fukunaga is resisting the temptation to tinker with the film. “You could just fiddle and tweak and it doesn’t necessarily get better,” he says. “For all intents and purposes, we had finished the film. I had mentally finished the film. Mentally and emotionally.”
Full interview with Cary in the upcoming issue, July 9
Translates from jamesbond007news.com
"The company transports photography equipment through air, sea, and land to Norway, Jamaica, Italy, which became the shooting location of "007/No Time to Die", and other parts of the UK. In addition, more than 30 aircraft were chartered, ranging from private jets to freighters, arranged by DHL.
At an airfield in the UK, shooting was carried out in the setting of Havana Port in Cuba. At that time, DHL transported more than 200 containers with 40 feeders."
Cool. Did not know that.
I don't know the landscape in the UK around that airfield but looking at the choppercam photo it doesn't feel british at all in the background with that mountain/hill..
2. The similarities between the lairs in NTTD and DN,
3. If Safin is considered a doctor in any way, which I think he will be considering what we know about his plan,
Then it's essentially already confirmed that Safin is a reimagining of Dr. No, even if not called so by name.
Seeing him walk around in that mask in the new photo just sort of makes it click for me.
The background is a visual effect.
I was looking for that ;)
How can the background be a visual effect when it's a raw still from the location shoot with the focus on the choppercam filming something?
@Octopussy If we look at the furniture it looks more like scandinavian style a la 70's.
And the book released 1989: Nicolas Slonimsky was a Russian-born American conductor, author, pianist, composer and lexicographer.
Why would Q have that, I wonder?
I think it's the cabin in Norway, with Madeleine's mom on the bed
While this scene plays out in a modern home, maybe Madeleines flat
Quite disappointing, no real new information and just rehashing of stuff already known or reported elsewhere.
Is the quote from Cary about the delay from yesterday the only new thing?
Any new stills?
Ah, thought you were talking about the shot of the airfield in the trailer.
No sir, I wasn't.
In a nutshell, other than the Empire article already online:
“Because it is Daniel’s last movie, I wanted a sort of emotional heart to it. He started off in Casino Royale a pretty tough character, but he falls in love. For the rest of the films, that heart is pretty closed down. I wanted to see if I could open it back up again for the final film”
“I thought Madeline Swann was an enigma and in Spectre, you dont really get a chance to understand her, or what her attachment is to Bond. So I wanted to dive deeper into that. I felt like therein lies a secret to whatever was going to open the box in Bond’s heart. And how is she different from Vesper Lynd“
And on his “alternative” take for the film....
“I was thinking about Total Recall. And if you think about Spectre, when he is sitting in that chair, and that needle goes in his head, suddenly everything works out really well for him. [The idea being its all in Bond’s head], I thought it would be a really interesting way of telling the first half of the story [he laughs]. But it was a pitch. Both hands were being used passionately, I may have been standing, walking and pacing as I said it. But it didnt finish with everyone standing up and applauding”
There is what looks like a new photo, Safin pointing a gun (at someone off picture), in some sort of garden. He is wearing blue robes.
I like! Cary is very charming...makes me want to go back and watch True Detective again!
Cary has made reference before about Madeleine and Vesper here:
https://www.empireonline.com/movies/features/no-time-to-die-james-bond-trailer-breakdown-interview-cary-joji-fukunaga/
Essentially saying that the dynamic between Vesper and Madeleine..I think because we know that Vesper and Madeleine both seemingly betray Bond. However, both their motives seem to be to protect him. I suppose we shall find out in September.
Very interesting that Cary went back and explored the Craig era....it seems that he was the driving influence in bringing Lea Seydoux back. Bloody good decision, I say!
also....sounds like Cray is pitching this as a 'love story.' Perhaps that Valentine's Day 2021 release is looking more and more enticing to Eon.
Thank you! Will be interesting to see that photo and that quote about why bring back Madeleine is great.
Thanks!
That's the million dollar question.
I'd say it will be a strong consideration because:
- MGM probably bwanting some cash flow from the film sooner rather than later
- product placement partners like Heineken or Nokia (remember that historically Bond had more of its budget covered by that than most films like that) not wanting to derail their campaigns and product launches again
- for the same reason, the bar to clear for PVOD would be lower
- cinemas not reopening until November may force a recalibration of the entire film industry and how things are released.
Sorry if this is the wrong thread and I hate to spread negativity but I'm in the U.S. and I cannot fathom how theatres will be open in November and even if they are, not many people will want to go .
My state is fairly small and is very affluent with a very large population working white collar jobs remotely. We're doing a very good job managing this thing but given how it is completely blowing up in some of the biggest, most populous states, it's only a matter of time until my state has a spike as well and then comes another round of shutdowns.
Also, November isn't even the date they have to monitor. I'd imagine a firm decision will have to be made by August/September before they blow tens of millions on marketing again.
I wish you all safety and health and look forward to enjoying the film with all of you when we do get to see it.
Tenet will be the litmus test.
