Once again this video is proof that you cannot look towards other Bond films marketing rollout to understand the current one.

This first-look video arrived less than two months from the start of filming.

i suspect this video is part of the official marketing push for the film. We will almost certainly get the trailer with Hobbs and Shaw at the beginning of August.

Is there an outside chance that Universal bring Bond 25 to Comic-Con?????

I really hope Cary gets the music right on this film. I'm sure he will do. Could they go as far as getting a Jamaican artist involved? Really hoping so. Going to see Chronix this weekend - worse places for them to start looking.

Shaggy? He could do a theme song called Bondbastic :-D

I love it, this looks like a CR sequel for sure. Feels like a sleek looking modern Bond film
    That's what I thought @FrankXavier :)

It would be a great way to end the series with a film that feels and looks like the bookend to Casino Royale.

Visually this looks light years ahead of CR. QOS tried to drag Bond into the 21st century and B25 looks like it will succeed.

Billy Magnussen's role is definitely going to have some humour to it me thinks :)

This looks drastically different from sky fall and spectre. I think this one will be lighter IMO.

In fairness, I think this is almost identically similar to the rollouts for Spectre and Skyfall...which had first BTS vlogs two/three months after filming starts. In fact I'm kinda surprised they kept at it with them, given it was something established with the Sony-released films. Guess it proves how much sway EON really have with the marketing...

And I've said this before, would absolutely love a SDCC appearance. Feels needed to get fresh younger/fanboy audience blood towards this film, especially if they want to get to that billion mark. WB is sitting the convention out this year with the exception of their horror films, so something like Bond could come in and fill that void left... (Also, wouldn't be Universal arranging that but UA/MGM ;) )

This movie has the potential for being the coolest Bond since a long time. Big thanks to the God of cinema for replacing Danny with Cary.

Good to see a glimpse of some footage. Looks like Eon are finally stepping it up to counter the negativity.

I'm wondering whether they'll go with Fleming's original title for DN, and call it Commander Jamaica, as in the proposed television show before Saltzman snapped up the cinematic rights.

I like that idea immensely. Hate to admit this, but at this point I'm starting to worry they are going to just stick with B25 as the title.

Brilliant! And for once, that is not an overused word.
Cary Fukunaga is an inspired choice. I never doubted him.
As soon as I heard he was directing, all my instincts were shouting how great this will be. Fukunaga and Sandgren are magic. This will be mind-blowingly good.

So smart of them to release this bit. This should shut up all the naysayers (it won't, but it sure should). Every time they want to moan about Cary, they should be made to watch this slice of video, on loop.

This is amazing! This video is basically Fukunaga telling Barbara: “Look at me, I AM THE CAPTAIN NOW!” :)) Right now I am very confident the great Cary Fukunaga will deliver.

    She was... until today.

    The more notes:
    1. As much as I liked Temine’s work, I can already tell the great Suttirat Anne Larlarb (Danny Boyle’s choice!) is a big upgrade.
    2. I am a bit sad that Sandgren is shooting this on film. I love the digital look!

You are so right, as always! The Great Captain Cary is running the show at Eon now, like a boss.

Thank God, too - after the Great Captain Danny Boyle's unfortunate demise after a suicide run at the start of the battle.

One more thing: some of the shots (some of the interiors) seen in this video were likely shot at Pinewood, right?
  • edited June 2019 Posts: 11,425
I don't think so. It all looks like locations and sets we had glimpses of during the Jamaica filming. The house on the beach. The club. All glimpsed previously. And the house looked like it had been constructed in such a way that it was going to be used for interiors as well as exterior shots.

Like it, sets a good mood! But of course I am still hoping there‘ll be a Jump Up! 2.0 ... it would fit in many ways and a nod surely only hardcore fans would recognize and otherwise just blend with the Jamaican visuals ...

Just before I pressed play on this one I had just watched a Youtube video of Carlton doing his dance in Fresh Prince (Youtube suggestions are all over the place sometimes), and now I can't stop thinking (and laughing) at the idea of Alfonso Ribeiro dancing his dance to this tune in the Bond 25 club scene. :))
