I said it in the spoiler reaction thread and I'll say it here, too.

    My God.
  • Is that a good or bad exclamation?

There has never been a Bond film whose action sequences are this uniformly excellent, to the point where even as an individual sequence I think the tanker chase from LTK has finally been unseated from its throne for me.

Great to hear after spectre's mostly dismal action scenes

    Any noteworthy fist fight sequences?

Is there a tribute for Roger Moore and Sean Connery?

From what I understand, no there is not.

My sincere apologies, spoiler tagged it, I got all these threads mixed up. I'm really really sorry if I ruined it for you or anyone else.
I am really not sure though since the only person mentioning it was not sure either.

Some decent spoilers on the ScreenDaily.Com review. Would recommend avoiding.

I'm not sure why people thought there would be? There have only ever been two dedications for Bond films as far as I can recall - for Meddings who actually worked on GE and Cubby who had worked on the film prior.

I thought maybe Barry would get one on Skyfall but their careers are so much bigger than Bond. In Connery's case he actively worked to damage EON.

Just got back from seeing it. It's very good. A good end-cap for the Craig era. Top 3 Craigs for sure. It will be divisive. There are twists i never saw coming. They did a good job keeping a lid on some things.

Great to hear this. At the end of the day, this is the best case scenario. I'll be highly suspicious if it's labeled the Best Bond Ever! Fell for that hype during Spectre.
  • I’ve heard a number of negative impressions about Safin, which I was a bit worried about purely based on the trailers.

Anyone wanna bet Craig will get one himself in the distant future? ;)

Please can you stop with the spoilers in this thread even in spoiler tags. Someone will inevitably reply and forget to use one.

Empire have given it a 4 star review in a nice, positive and very low spoiler write up😁 Anything they do touch on has already been discussed on these boards many times over the months so should be safe to read.

Knee-jerk reaction is that it is a technically masterful film, but the 2hrs 40 mins is not justified. While the pacing is noticeably better than Spectre, again it falls short in an overblown last act.
I feel this may be a case of too many cooks spoil the broth (it covers a lot, but doesn’t really run away with any one narrative point), but then again I think a few more viewings will help me get my head around it all.
  • I'm just glad that there are more seemingly honest reviews than the usual hyper exaggeration due to the whole pomp and circumstance of the premiere and new release.

  • It's so difficult trying to read reviews without finding out too much of the story. How can I last this out until tomorrow night when I see it?

I've already found out too much already, even by just skimming the reviews.

Have to say though, its looking very positive and promising, judging by what I've read so far. RT is currently rating this at 90%.

Quite a departure from what’s come before.
I didn’t particularly like it though, it must be said. A bit of a hodge-podge.

I don't want to give away too much but the first moments of the title sequence are INCREDIBLE and then it turns into something kind of super dark (visually, not thematically) and I wasn't very fond of it. It's the only moment in the film whose details I've already forgotten significant amounts of. Probably my least favourite Kleinman sequence other than the abysmal DAD one. But honestly if my biggest complaints about the entire film are that I don't particularly enjoy the theme song and title sequence, that should tell you how I feel about the overall film ;)
  • 87% on Rotten Tomatoes now, so slightly dropping as more critic reviews come in. I remember Spectre's rating started at 80-something percent and then slowly dropped to its current 63%. Hoping NTTD does better than that.

8.1/10 on IMDb now, although it will likely take months for the rating to settle.
