I'm right about this, you know? If the times we're living in do not fit the Bond formula anymore, then one should not adjust the Bond formula but END James Bond - as Bond himself would want it. The only Bond movies who really do live up to Ian Fleming are the first two anyway, so maybe I shouldn't care.
Welcome to the forum.
OK.
That’s a little strong about Eilish. She’s got a good voice and I wouldn’t mind the song at all if it hadn’t followed two other moody title songs. I really take issue more with the production. It’s bones bare with Bond cliches, albeit subtle so okay... but I’d prefer a song with its own cinematic sonic sound. FYEO has a sound and it doesn’t need Bond riffs to tell you this is Bond.
As for only first two movies living up to Fleming... honestly both DN and FRWL are classics films but neither are as good as the book. GF does bring Fleming vibrantly to life as does OHMSS. You could add TB in too, but I would compare that more two the first two... great but the book is better.
David Guetta played a remix of NTTD [39.00] during his United From Home Miami Fundraiser.

It's not unheard of that there are Bond fans that exclusively like the novels and don't particularly care for the films. It's very rare and unusual for sure, since most Bond fans became fans because of the films. I think it's at least interesting to hear opinions of those who fell in love with the novels first, as it's not a very common perspective.
Way back during the Keeping the British End Up years I remember we had a member by the name Erica Ambler, who was pretty dismissive of the films in general, especially heavily critical towards CR when it was released regarding it as the second worst film (above QOS). Though for what it's worth, he highly praised SF as the best film since the 60s.
I would've thought a book purist would prefer CR to at least the 70s films, considering its the most Fleming accuarate film since OHMSS.
I’m not against all of the creative liberties taken with the 2006 film, but I can understand why it would bother some like this guy:

I’ve not watched any trailers, so I feel you.
As for Fleming lovers not loving CR the film... I could see the critiques of the liberties they took for sure. But the spirit, tone and characters are all there, so I still love. But for a Fleming lover to dismiss CR and love SF... that’s just bizarre.
I listened to the song but never watched a trailer. I was very happy that I managed to not watch a trailer and then everything changed and now I have to avoid any trailer for a much much longer time.
Maybe just a few snippets, not the whole thing! Gotta keep some element of surprise in the film!
On that note, I can't wait for some actual full scenes to be revealed... maybe even the PTS to wet our appetites.
I think, I remember that Erica Ambler fella (quite a nice nick name, btw) and him ranting against CR, and also DC. But you maybe right, the Fleming purists, who first fell for the novels, might have disliked the post-FRWL-movies (with the exception of OHMSS). My first contact with Bond were the movies.
Same here, song is a nice teaser, trailer would just straight up ruin the film for me.
Just edit it and replace all text with “deleted” or something similar. It’s the only way.
This comment has nothing to do with the music. It's just a list of insults about aesthetic and image. There's too much ego and identity and music as it is.
