What extra features, do you want on NTTD DVD & Blu Ray

I'm a sucker for bonus feautures,
And I feel second to hopefully NTTD being awesome, I want a disc release packed with bonus feautures.

This including

Audio commentarys

Director, actors, composer, cinematopher. At least 3 separate commentaries would be amazing. Fingers crossed as craig has never done one but this is his final bond so he might feel more inclined to do so.

A behind the scenes, something beefy at least an hour, not a five minute throw away.

The reason I'm stressing this is because the SPECTRE feautures were severely lacking, They were interesting but no commentaries, the making of was far too short.

Anyway I'm putting this out there what else does all the other bond fans want to see on the disc along with the movie?

Maybe something like I've said, or extras similar to what we've had with other releases or something totally different.

Interested to hear anyones thoughts. Hopefully this discussion doesnt get closed, I dont think there's another discussion like this elsewhere.

All the best, and bring on
NTTD.

    Great topic

I would love to see some location scouting videos from the crew, Peter Lamont has a few of these on the blurays as well as some older ones narrated by Michael G Wilson.

Some bonus material specifically focused on the sets created for the film, especially the villains lair.

A sort of retrospective on Craig's tenure would be nice as well. Also a more in depth look at the premiere for the film.

    - BTS featurette where a cast or crew member shows us around the different sets
    - BTS featurette visiting all the locations, mingling with locals etc.
    - a close look at the toys seen in the film, as well as things that didn't make the cut
    - a slideshow of all the concept art
    - a featurette summing up the previous 25 films, Craig's era, and Eon's thoughts for the future

We have to receive serious special features since Casino Royale 2006. I cant believe that we have more backstage from Dr. No than from Spectre. I understand that the disc market is low but we are talking about James Bond. I would like a second bluray like the one from Casino Royale!
  • Isn’t the DVD market pretty much dead with streaming?

In Netflix’s defence, they have been excellent with uploading featurettes on to Youtube for Oscar contenders.

But the NTTD DVD will be bare bones. I think Marc Forster and Sam Mendes’s audio commentary for SP will never see the light of day sadly….

I’d love a BTS documentary and an audio commentary but film promotion has changed so much over the years. Now its driven by clickbait YouTube videos with the cast quizzing one another or something like that. No more BTS documentaries, except for perhaps Sky.

The benefit is that we’ll get loads of stuff online in the next 7 weeks – but not an awful lot come the DVD……
  • The title sequence as a music video — with the lettering removed. (A nifty extra on some of the old DVD “special editions”.)

@M_Balje has pretty much nailed it

I'd love a Casino Royale style disc 2 but the main thing I'd love to see is a real interview with Daniel about the film and his run overall as Bond. Some behind the scenes footage would be nice as well if you're reading this Eon/Universal

A 'From script to screen' style in depth documentary, like the one on the DAD DVD. The worst Bond film got the best documentary.

Also a commentary from the director.

Mission impossible fallout came packed with plenty of extras and that's fairly recent. I think the market is still there, plus like a few have said its bond so its special.

I just wish we had a directline to Cary Fukunaga and the producers so we could say, come on please give us the good. Haha.

I wish it had actually been a question read out when they had the announcement in Jamaica at Goldeneye, Then they might have felt more inclined to make extra effort.
    No pun intended.

If they have them, they'll definitely do a summary of the Daniel Craig era. I'd hope they'd also get old/new cast members to discuss what it was like working with him and being a part of the franchise.

I actually discovered that recently it was really cool. And theres like a day in the life of bond where they filmed outside Buckingham palace.

    Yeah that's a great shout.

It should hopefully get a well packed Blu ray and 4K UHD.

Why are DVD's a thing still, that format should have been made obsolete around 5 years ago.

No wonder Blu ray didn't take a hold they never had faith in HD physical format and kept manufacturing SD product.

I'll definitely be getting the 4K UHD of this.

You get next to nothing nowadays in terms of meaningful special features.

Yet another area where MI kicks Bond's @$$ these days.

One of the main reasons I got into DVDs, and later Blu, is for the bonus features. I recall reading the bonus features for the first Bond DVDs way back in 1999 and drooling at all that content, most of which fans didn't have access to before or original stuff. I don't just want a movie, I want an experience.

I think if they marketed it right then a fan like myself and several others here would pay a little extra for a release with that type of content, and I don't mean those steelbook things. I don't need some tin thing, just a nice cover. However, it would be nice to get the little bonus things stores would offer with a new release like the Aston Martin or coin when CR was released.
  • Wonder if we'll get shifting aspect ratios this time for the IMAX footage.

I wish they'd do some in depth location videos for the movies, especially the earlier ones. It's great to see some of the Bond locations as they are now.

  • We'll it looks like the bonus features are listed on a German site or something. And unfortunately it looks like we're not getting to much other than a few short making of bits and the being james bond documentary. Which is a nice edition but it feels like a missed opportunity not to have included the extended deleted scenes. A commentary by cary fukunaga and one by Daniel craig as its his Last movie. And a nice lengthy feautre length making of which could have been amazing. Its a shame also because I thought Barbara and Micheal G were pretty proud of this one. I guess time will tell if we get any other editions. If your looking for the details bond fan Calvin Dyson has it on his twitter.

Even if they give us bare bones, I want at LEAST great commentary for the whole film by Cary and Linus. Those really are the two important parts for me.

    I would also love:
~ More video and photos from the locations, scouting and when filming.
~ A longer look (video) at the stunts, how they were made, as well as the sets.
~ A combination of commentary by ALL the writers, going over this story start to finish.
Just edit it well (I don't mean sit them all down together) - I really would enjoy that.
~ I agree with others and also think a retrospective look at all of Daniel's films would be very fitting, and I would want that to NOT be too brief at all.
I highly doubt Daniel would do commentary, but any input from him would be welcome.
~ A classy booklet, with other trivia, background, and comments from Michael and Barbara.

If there is not a director's commentary by Cary, I mean for the whole film, that will be a huge disappointment for me. I want that more than anything else. :(

The Being James Bond doc is a great addition if it is indeed on all copies. I haven t seen that one.

Right there with you. Its not looking to promising as what I've said above. But fingers crossed. We may get one.
  • Someone has said on Calvin dysons twitter about a possible bonus disc for the French release. trying to find what's on it but not having alot of luck. Maybe someone else has better detective skills out there?
