That was pretty awesome if I may say so, @QBranch. I liked that suggestion.

Just something for a laugh, not a serious suggestion.

For the one above, I can get the last 4 images here, but struggling to explain the first few.

    So it's Valentin Zukovsky:

    Val (Lewton)
    Ent (LOTR tree)
    teen (JBJr)
    zoo
    cough (syrup)
    ski

@QBranch I'm gonna go with Switchblade, as used in DAD.

    An easy one.

    (switchboard - board) = switch
    +
(razors and blades - razors) = blades

    switch+blades

Okay some more. Language skills helpful, but not essential to solve these I'm thinking.

Last one solved has the floor.

  • If you have to know Chinese, I don't think I'm going to get those last two, haha, but I'll take a crack:

    1. Dead last (unsure of the Bond connection though)

    2. Meteor (???-ET-R)

    3. Halle Berry (HAL 9000-???-bear-e)

Good thinking on those @Some_Kind_Of_Hero, especially #1 and #3.

#1: Same concept, looking for Dead End, can be related to dialog in these films.
    • TLD: (M wants you out at the Blayden safe house.) Right. Looks like it's a dead end here anyway.
    • LTK: (Oh, God! It's Heller!) Yeah. Looks like he came to a dead end.
    • DAD: (It's been fun.) Well, the fun is about to come to a dead end.
    • QOS: (Tell her Slate was a dead end.) Slate was a dead end.

#3: Halle Berry is correct (Hal 9000, 李/"Lee" Chinese character, Bear of Microsoft origin, letter "E").

I'm also realizing there's a poorer quality but better image of Bear I could have used.

For #2, knowing the name of the green character can be key. Of course the Chinese character can also help.

  • Ohhh, just got it. Very clever.

    Hans Zimmer

That must be the character for "han," hence the plural + Invader Zim + R.

I was unfamiliar with the Microsoft connection for #3. I thought the "bear" had to do with providing or presenting.

#2 is a go: Hans Zimmer, you got it @Some_Kind_Of_Hero.

Not sure I presented the Microsoft item so artfully, but I figured a person recognizing Hal 9000 would get the Rebus.

Looking forward to your item, @Some_Kind_Of_Hero.

  • Cool, I'll have a new one up in a bit.

  • Lol, @mattjoes

This was fun, like solving a crossword puzzle. You learn some things as well.

There's no way I'm doing a rebus after this, I'm spent!

Edit: In case I wasn't clear

  • Very good, @mattjoes! Major props for decoding the whole thing!

    Cleaning up a few details:
    • The pink liquid is "tube" (how you leaf me tube Burn)
    • The swirl is "whirled" for "world"
    • The "singular" is for "a whey"
    • Jean-Baptiste Say, French economist
    • The picture between "Tom" and "roe" is "or"
    • "You've" was a tricky one: "euphoric" minus "Auric"
    • The plant bristles are "awn"
    • The rams are butting for "butt ewe B.E.T. Yor LIFE"
    • The snake is "Sss" for "Sss-pie"

Well that was epic @Some_Kind_Of_Hero, and got the detailed solution it deserved.

If I'm reading you right @mattjoes you're spent and the board is open. So I have these two.

    #1 is Helga Brandt.

    Is #2 Blades?

#1 is correct as Helga Brant. (Hell, Lady Gaga, Brant goose.)

#2 I was looking for something else, @Dragonpol. (Your suggestion of Blades is excellent, part of my thinking is they're not all blades.]

Yes, I thought I'd take a stab at it but I wasn't sure it was right.

My second guess for #2 is:

"I think he got the point." (from Thunderball).

Another interesting notion, @Dragonpol, but no.

I can say what I'm looking for isn't limited to blades and points. Subjectively, it's what I first thought of when I saw the image.

Yes, I thought it was a longshot but I decided I'd try it. I'll have to think again then! :)
  • I might have guessed Knives Out, but that doesn’t seem to fit your second clue.
